020: CULT OF PERSONALITY
༊*·
Harper sat on the ground in her living room, granny squares spread out in front of her, as she tried to work out how the pattern should look.
"Is that a blanket for me?" Aimee asked, as she stood beside Harper, arm on her shoulder.
"Yep. The colours messed up a little. I'm going to make it again when I can actually get to the store and get the colours. There were people in the way last time."
"I 'member. " Aimee looked at her mother. "Why can you wear jeans and I can't?"
She glanced at her. "Are you at that age where you want to completely pick out your own clothes? Because you can wear jeans if you want, but I love your little dresses."
"Yes."
"Oh. We'll buy you some soon."
The doorbell rang, and Harper sighed. "I'll be back, sweet pea."
"Harper!" Diego's yelling sounded from the other side of the door. "It's me!"
"Shush!" She pulled the door open, looking at him. "Howdy."
He glanced around, like someone might be watching them.
"Who're you looking for?"
"Feds."
"What?"
"You up for some time travel?"
"No."
He looked at her. "What?"
"Come in." She moved out of the way, and he walked into the house, looking around. "I'm not time travelling unless we know it'll work."
"Five says it will." Diego stopped looking around, trying to focus. "Hey, Aimee."
She waved.
"He did last time, too."
"He says it's different this time. But we've got a time limit. Know where Klaus's cult is?"
She thought for a moment. "I know where his house is. I can get him if you take Aimee."
He paled. "I take her?"
"Yeah. I'm not -" She glanced at Aimee, who wasn't paying attention, and whispered. "I'm not taking her to see a sex cult."
"Oh, yeah." He nodded. "I have something to do, anyway."
"Safe for her?"
"Sh- yeah."
She nodded. "Then you bring her, I'll get Klaus. How long do we have?"
"Half an hour or so. Meet in arrival alley."
"In what?"
"Where we all arrived."
She nodded. "Alright. Yeah. Aimee?"
She looked up from the granny square. "Yeah?"
"Pack a bag of toys, quickly. We're going on a trip."
Her eyes lit up. "Where?"
"Surprise. You're going with Diego, is that alright?"
She shrugged, and ran into her bedroom.
"Give her two minutes." Harper said.
He nodded. "You'll probably have to drag Klaus."
"The earlier I go, the better." She yelled down the hall. "Aimee, stick with Diego, okay?"
