The morning sun gently streamed through the high, narrow windows of the castle chamber, casting golden rays upon the stone floor. The air was cool but filled with the sound of birds singing outside, creating a serene and almost surreal atmosphere. The castle of Wode stood proud, but within its walls, a moment of peace unfolded.

Peter lay still, careful not to disturb Alice as he held her close, his naked body pressed warmly against hers. She slept soundly, her golden hair splayed across the pillow, shimmering like spun gold in the morning light. He gazed at her, his heart swelling with gratitude, as though each day spent with her and Isabel was a blessing beyond anything he could have imagined.

He kissed her softly on her forehead, then her nose, and finally her cheek. Each kiss was gentle, barely enough to stir her, but enough to remind him that this was real. That she was real.

Alice's playful expression softened. "I'm grateful too, Peter. For everything."
