The sun was relentless, casting a brilliant glow on the scene. Peter of Wode, with his raven hair and tall, muscular frame, rode astride his brown horse across the expanse of the battlefield. His body was encased in intricately made armor, the metal gleaming in the harsh sunlight that made him look every inch the warrior he was, he rode with a regal air, his eyes shining like golden beacons in the bright light of the day.

As the Irmandine Wars raged through Galicia including Pontevedra, some of the lower classes, including peasants, townspeople, and lower nobility, rose against the rule of the higher lords. Led by a Brotherhood, these rebels sought to overthrow the system of power by the ruling classes. They targeted the fortified castles including Wode Castle, symbols of the feudal lords' power, and destroyed numerous strongholds in their quest for change. Meanwhile, Peter of Wode had been protecting the borders while his fiancée, Lady Teresa, ruled in his absence as usual.

As Peter charges through the battlefield, sword in hand, his thoughts weave between the chaos around him and the memories that haunt him. Peter, silently to himself:

"I should be dead by now. I've faced countless blades, yet I endure... Why do I keep surviving? What's left for me here?"

He parries an attack with effortless precision, his movements mechanical, driven more by instinct than intent. Peter, grimacing as he strikes down an opponent:

"Every battle, I hope this will be the one. The one where I finally meet my end... But it never comes. Am I cursed to keep living, to keep fighting?"

For a moment, amidst the chaos, a fleeting image of Alice surfaces in his mind—her gentle smile, the way her eyes lit up when she was happy. Peter, his heart tightening with regret:

"Alice... You're always there, just out of reach. I thought war would drown out your memory, but it only sharpens the pain. What I wouldn't give to see you again, to hold you one last time."

Another enemy falls before him, yet the victory feels hollow. The battlefield feels like a prison, the weight of his armor a constant reminder of the life he has chosen. Peter, his voice a whisper within his mind: "How did I let you slip away? The one person who ever truly knew me... I was a fool to think I could forget you, to believe that war could be my escape."

He stares at the bloodstained ground, a grim reminder of his own inner turmoil. Peter, with a bitter resolve: "Maybe I'm too strong, too stubborn to die... But what's the point? Strength means nothing without you. Each day, I fight for survival, but without you, I'm just... existing."

As the battle rages on, Peter continues to fight, his movements fluid and powerful, yet his mind remains tethered to the past—where Alice's memory lingers, haunting him with the life he can never reclaim. Peter, a final thought as he faces yet another foe:

"Maybe I'll survive every battle, live to see every victory... But without Alice, what victory is there left to claim?"

As Peter rode through the battlefield, his thoughts inevitably drifted back to Alice. The image of her blonde hair catching the sunlight, her laughter like a melody that once filled his days, was now a ghost that haunted him at every turn. It had been years since she left Pontevedra, vanishing from his life as mysteriously as she had entered it. Yet, despite the passage of time, Peter could never shake the feeling that she was still out there somewhere, living a life without him.

Peter, to himself, as he deflects another strike:

"Where are you now, Alice? What happened to you after you left? Did you ever think of me as I think of you?"

These questions plagued him, especially in the quiet moments between battles. Though he had tried to bury his feelings in the chaos of war, the uncertainty of Alice's fate gnawed at him. Every time he returned to Pontevedra, he half-expected to see her face in the crowd, but she was never there. The absence of any news about her felt like a cruel twist of fate, leaving him to wonder if she had found happiness or if she suffered in the same way he did.
