𝒄𝒂𝒆𝒍𝒚𝒏𝒏 has officially made it into the new year, and she made it very much happy.
things are finally starting to look good for her.
piece by piece, little by little, everything is beginning to fall into its own place. she's not sure what it is, but she's not complaining about it one bit.
she can actually get her life together for once and it feels so nice and refreshing to do.
it feels like a huge weight has lifted off of her chest to the point she can breathe freely again.
the feeling hit her around new year's eve, where she found her way back to her parent's graves and got to say everything she wanted to say.
she started by saying sorry. she was sorry to her father for not listening to him that day, for being the reason he was at the wrong place at the wrong time, and for not looking after her mother like she should have the day he left. she was sorry to her mother for acting out the way she did when cayton died, for not being there for her when she really should have been in the time of need, and for not being a good enough reason for christine to stay.
then she told them how much she loves them, and how no matter what happens, she'll remember them and their presence, of all of their memories together, and she'll remember that even though they are no longer with her physically, they'll still be with her emotionally and mentally. she knows they're watching over her from above and that they'll never leave her — no matter where they're at.
it was shortly after her very long goodbye speech to them when the fireworks started and all around people were screaming 'happy new year!'
she had went into the new year with them, and when she felt a gust of wind kiss away her tears that night, she knew they were there, stepping into a new beginning with her.
