[name] yawned, staring out at the pokemon playing in the outdoor area of professor sycamore's lab. she watched tiredly as the water pokemon all danced around in the rain, splashing and shooting water at each other.
"you should be going shouldn't you?" he asked, checking the watch on his wrist. "i'll have my assistant come and see you some time to get some data on sableye and banette." he finished, following [name]'s gaze out the large window.
"those kids.. the girl, what's her name..?" [name] asked the older man, tearing her gaze away from the froakie dancing around. "the girl with the fennekin."
"with the fennekin? that's serena, daughter of the famous rhyhorn racer." sycamore answered, watching as [name] stood, collecting her full team of six from the stand holding her pokeballs. she slid them into her bag and glancing back towards the pokemon in the water.
"could you pull some strings and bring her to lagoon town for me? i'll be there for the contest and i wouldn't mind seeing her skills. the boy with the pikachu, a friend from kanto has told me about him and i'd like to meet him too." [name] shook her head, looking away from the spinning squirtle and towards the sun instead.
"i'll see what i can do. where are you off to this time?" the professor asked but he had a feeling he could guess where she was going.
"you know."

"good luck. i hope to see every single one of you up on that stage doing your best with your pokemon right by your side." [name] told the girls who were all backstage getting ready for their performances.
she stepped out and onto the platform that would bring her onto the stage, releasing misdreavus and sableye. as she rose the lights were all turned off and ominous wind caused purple to fill the stage.
"misdreavus, perish song. sableye use shadow ball.." [name] on the dark stage ordered. her misdreavus began it's song while sableye cast the attack above, it cast a purple light over the performer and her pokemon.
she had five moves left until misdreavus fainted. "use destiny bond, misdreavus.." the screech pokemon connected it's health with sableye who on it's own began to shadow sneak around the stage as they had practiced.
misdreavus activated it's thunderbolt and it caused a bright flash of the stage that masked sableye using dazzling gleam. as the thunder dissolved sparkles that reflected every colour of every rainbow shone across the stage.
"and with that performance from our kalos queen, it's time to begin the lagoon town pokemon showcase!" monsieur pierre announced as the crowd clapped. the kalos queen gave a bow and walked off the stage as the first contestant stepped up.
[name] made her way into a private room and dusted down her dress, she let out phantump and it spun around happily. she turned on the computer and started scrolling through pokevision.
"mademoiselle [name]! a pancham has broken into the showcase!" one of the workers ran into the room. now that the door was opened, [name] could hear something crashing below.
"postpone the showcase, i'll sort something out with pierre." [name] told the worker who nodded and ran down to go inform everyone else, leaving the door opened. she stayed at her desk for a while, looking out over lagoon town.
"phantump, come down with me, maybe we'll meet that girl." the white phantump let out a happy cry and followed it's trainer down to the showcase theatre. she looked around but most people had already left. [name] stepped out and into the plaza, spotting the boy with the pikachu and his friends.
[name] made her way over to where they were and cleared her throat to get their attention as they talked amongst themselves. the group turned around in shock.
"[name]?!" a yellow haired boy with a large backpack and glasses, who she knew to be the lumiose city gym leader, exclaimed. the others seemed to have the same shock as clemont.
"clemont." was all she had to say before quickly redirecting her attention to serena. "you should think about becoming a pokemon performer. if you make it to the master class i'll have something waiting for you."
"ahh! thank you, [name]!" serena said with a bow and another bow and another. ash looked at his friend with an eyebrow raised but said nothing, she turned to him next.
"you have a froakie, correct?" she asked him and received a nod. "could you bring it out?" ash brought out his froakie from it's ball and [name] kneeled down to get closer to it's level. "you're a special one aren't you? important to kalos' future."
