Chapter 28

Jayden couldn't keep his eyes off of his girl. Deep down he was proud of her for not letting those traumatic experience stop her from living her life.

While he was glad the other part of his consciousness was mad that he still let her go. But her touch made him not say no. Jayden just hoped that this would make some progress into uttering some words.

Astraea watched Vera pour two shots in small cups. One was for her and the other well it was also hers.

"Hi ladies." A blond girl said.

Both Vera and Astraea turned around towards the girl, hearing her out.

"Oh, wow you're both so gorgeous. I'm fangirling right now." She said coughing straightening herself once again. Setting her thoughts on a line.

"You see my friend here." The girl pointed to a guy that gave one of his best smiles.

"He couldn't quite fantoom the obvious fact that you looked beautiful. You seemed to peek his interest. And asked me to ask your number." The girl said pointing to Astraea.

Astraea quickly looked back at Jayden to see that Curt and Axel already made his way over there. They were trying to get him relaxed. This action caused his eyes not to focus on Astraea anymore.

She opened her mouth to speak, but couldn't seem to utter anything out.

Vera downed the two shots down her system.
"She's taken." Vera said, trying not to seem like the girl who was trying to cockblock her friend.

Astraea felt a burning gaze lingering on the side of her face.

When she looked, he saw Jayden frowning his brows in a questioning manner at seeing the girls arrival.

"Oh." The girl looked back at Astraea who had her gaze on Jayden.

The girl muttered something but it was all kind of hazy, because of the longing she felt to be back in Jayden's arms.

Astraea couldn't explain it, but she felt safe in them.

"Okay girl, we're going back to your man." Vera said seeing that she wanted to go back.

When Astraea looked back at Vera, she realised that the short blond girl had already left going back to her friend. Who strangely kept looking at Astraea.

Vera put a hand around her shoulders walking back to Jayden and his friends.

Jayden put the drink of alcohol on the small table in front of him, to make space for Astraea.

She placed herself in between his legs, leaning into his warmth.
He closed his arms around her settling on her waist.

"Missed me, huh?" He smirked, on top of her head.
Astraea felt a little flustered.

Vera placed herself in between Axel and Curt.

They were conversating in their own world, while Astraea and Jayden were in theirs.

Astraea accidentally yawned.

"Wanna go home?" He said.

Suddenly they were interrupted by the guy the blond girl said was interested in Astraea.

"Hi Ladies." His tone had no good intentions behind it.

Astraea looked up and immediately tried to act like she never saw him before, because she knew how Jayden could get.

Astraea just prayed that he went away soon.

She slowly rubbed the back of his neck in a soothing manner.
