Chapter 27

Jayden intertwined his fingers with Astraea's.
The contrast of their skin molded with one another like a beautiful masterpiece.

Jayden's private doctor elaborated that Astraea's silence was a result of the trauma that she endured and that it could take a while before she made any sound again.

Astraea just observed the scene before her. He was gentle with her. Her heart fluttered at this.

They were both sat on Jayden's bed, relishing in one another's presence.

Jayden was wrapped around Astraea's finger, which he couldn't believe it for himself. His thoughts wandered back to the conversation he had with his father.

His father's second hand was at word.
He looked at his father than back at Jayden.

"You have to marry the girl." The word marry flew so fluently out of his mouth.

Jayden didn't know how to react. He was frozen, processing the information that was just brought to him.

The man continued on saying: "In that way no one would dare to cross you. They will see her as yours and respect her like that."

Then his father spoke: "He's right son."

Jayden looked at his father.

"The men that took her. I think they were looking for something that would make you hit rock bottom. You didn't made her your woman, so they took advantage of that."

Jayden was taken away from his thoughts, when Astraea looked at him, furrowing her brows. She placed a hand on the side of his face.

Jayden returned his attention back onto her.

"I love you."

Astraea listened intently, not once leaving his gaze.

"So much, it hurts." He continued.

I love you to. Is what she wanted to say.

"I know." He said.

Her eyes said it all.
Astraea brought her hand down to his heart.

His heartbeat accelerated and they both could hear the sound of their hearts beating.

Jayden leaned closer, wanting to taste her again.

Astraea closed her eyes, she also leaning in.

Their lips finally brushed against each other: "Please come back to me."

He placed his forehead against hers.

"I will be a better man. I'll do my best to make it up to you. Become the man you deserve."

The tears spilled from his girl eyes.

She pursed her lips.

The couple closed their eyes, just listening to each other.

Astraea placed her lips on his, surprising him.
