Jayden tried to grasp Astraea's hand but she wasn't budging.
His heart broke.
She just stared at his hand then looked at his face.
Her face was terribly wounded. Bruises. A black eye, eye bags, with a busted lip. Then red hand prints across her face.
"Take my hand." He said to her.
She wasn't crying. In fact there were silent tears.
Astraea was staring at him with a straight face, holding the sheets across her tightly. You could tell by the way her knuckles were coloured.
She was completely bare with only the sheets covering her. Jayden didn't want to startle her by touching him. So he tried to communicate with him.
"We have to leave." One of Jayden's men said.
He was right. They had to leave, just in case they missed something and someone would pop up unexpected.
Jayden removed his jacket from his body.
"Astraea, take it." He said with desperation oozing from his face.
"Please."
'Come back to me.' He thought, his eyes told those exact words to her.

Nothing.
It seemed like she was zoomed into another world. Repeating the same cycle over and over again.
"Go get the car ready." The three men left the room without a word, knowing they needed to be alone.
Jayden went on his knees.
He tried to look for contact with her eyes.
The eyes that were once full of happiness, now only turned in pain. All because of him.
"I'm sorry."
Those words fell on deaf ears.
"I couldn't protect you. My word meant nothing. I promised."
Still nothing.
"I don't know what to do I'm so lost and even more scared for you to be lost and not find your way back to me."
Jayden paused for a little breathing in deeply.
Then he nodded. "These past three days have been hell. But this I will give you my word. I will work an eternity for your forgiveness. I will kill all those that hurt you. But I need you to come back to me right now in this moment. I love you Astraea."
