Aisha groaned; her face contorted in frustration. "Please, yaar, I can't walk in these freaking heels! What if I fall?"
Anaya shot her a stern look, crossing her arms. "No. You're wearing the dress, and the heels. It's important."
Aisha was about to throw another tantrum when Vikram, who had been unusually patient with her all evening, leaned down and whispered, "I'm here, na? I won't let you fall."
Aisha looked up at him, her frustration momentarily fading as she met his soft gaze. "You better catch me if I do, Vikkie," she muttered under her breath.
The group stood outside the grand venue, clearly late, but no one seemed to care. It was Aisha's first time attending a high-profile event like this, and her nerves were getting the better of her. She had been making excuses, stalling, and now, even the twins were running late.
Just then, Veer approached them, his polished shoes clicking against the pavement. "Guys, you're already late! What are you doing standing here?" His voice was full of amusement, but when his eyes landed on Aisha, they widened in shock.
"Ohhh my goodness... Sunshine, you look beautiful." His voice softened as he kissed her forehead gently.
Aisha blushed, her frustration melting into warmth. "You're looking handsome too, Veeru," she replied, smiling up at him.
Vikram, standing on the other side of Aisha, cleared his throat loudly. "Hey, where's my compliment?"
She turned to him, a playful twinkle in her eyes. "You're looking dashing, handsome too... Vikkie," she teased.
Vikram narrowed his eyes at her, his expression mock-serious, but the corner of his mouth betrayed a smirk. "That's better."
With that, they finally made their way inside the venue. The moment they stepped through the doors, the air shifted. The grand ballroom was bathed in soft golden light, chandeliers glittering overhead.
People turned their heads, eyes locking on Aisha, flanked by the Oberoi twins, Vikram and Veer. The room seemed to freeze for a moment.
Aisha shifted uncomfortably, her hands nervously gripping the fabric of her gown. She whispered, "Why are they all staring at me like they've never seen a girl before?"
Arjun's voice broke through her panic, his tone calm and amused. "After all, you do look like an angel, so why wouldn't they?"
Kavya, standing nearby, smiled warmly as she approached. "This dress is perfect—it really does make you look like a true angel, Aisha." She beamed with pride, her eyes sparkling as she took in the sight of Aisha.
Aisha glanced down at her floor-length gown. The white fabric shimmered subtly, catching the light with every movement. It hugged her slim figure, enhancing her fair complexion and giving her an ethereal look. Her long brown hair cascaded down her back in loose curls, and her minimal makeup, just a hint of silver, made her look effortlessly stunning. She felt both beautiful and nervous under everyone's gaze.
