Divyansh could barely contain his excitement, hopping from one foot to the other like a child on a sugar rush. "I will wake her up! I will wake her up!" he whispered urgently, his voice buzzing with enthusiasm.
"Fine! Just shut your trap already," Vikram hissed, glaring at him with barely concealed irritation.
Rajendra stood at the back, a soft smile playing on his lips as he held the birthday cake. The flickering candles reflected in his eyes, the joy of celebrating his princess's 22nd birthday evident in his demeanor.
Rivaan, lingering near Veer, muttered under his breath, "I'm never waking her up. Or even showing up suddenly in front of her."
Veer raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"
"You'll find out soon enough," Rivaan smirked.
Saad quietly pushed the door open, gesturing for the others to follow him silently. Arjun was the first to step inside, carrying a bunch of colorful balloons. Kavya and Neha came next, clutching handfuls of confetti, their faces lit with excitement. One by one, the rest of the group tiptoed in.
As they entered, their eyes softened, taking in the sight of Aisha sleeping peacefully. She was cuddled up with a massive teddy bear, one that had been bought before her birth but was now finally being used.
Rivaan, however, scrunched up his nose, clearly disliking the sight of something—or someone—cuddling with her in his place. He crossed his arms and muttered, "Why is she hugging that thing instead of me?"
Neha nudged him, biting back a grin. "It's a teddy bear, Rivaan. Relax."
"Doesn't matter," he grumbled, shooting the stuffed animal a glare. "Still doesn't sit right with me."
Divyansh, oblivious to the hushed exchange, wore a wicked grin as he tiptoed closer to the bed. He leaned down, his lips inches from Aisha's ear, and bellowed, "GOOD MORNING, AISHA!"
What happened next was almost too fast to process. Aisha's eyes flew open, her hand shooting out like a missile. Her fist connected squarely with Divyansh's jaw, sending him reeling backward onto the floor with a dramatic thud.
"OW! What the hell!" Divyansh groaned, clutching his face.
The room froze.
Aisha blinked, still half-asleep, her mind struggling to piece together the scene in front of her. Divyansh was sprawled on the floor, groaning. Everyone else was staring—some in shock, some trying to stifle laughter.
Saad broke the silence, cackling as he held up his phone. "Knew this would happen. Classic Aisha."
Veer glanced at Rivaan, who gave him a smug told-you-so look.
By now, Aisha's sleepiness had dissipated. Her eyes widened as the realization hit her. She glanced at the group—at the balloons, the cake, and the confetti in Kavya and Neha's hands.
