The next few months were boring and I spent it in the Ravenclaw dorm room reading their books from top to bottom earning me a large number of confused stares.I finally processed the troll blood and organs I had taken and started testing them on different things to find out how they reacted. I found out that because of the impurities in the blood that I would need to process it a few more times in order to make it useful.
I spent a large amount of time working on different projects from my room and the meetings with Salt once a week were becoming more in depth. I had her buy a hundred house elves and sent them to live in my new training facility. I told her to have them be well fed and to train their bodies to have muscle. The job I had planned was a more physical one than a normal house elf could handle. Also have them use the rooms to train their ability to withstand the elements, but not anywhere near having them dying. I want them to be able to survive in harsh conditions not die trying to survive them while training.
Salt left and I thought about all my projects and businesses. I had started a few enchantment shops to create magical items and taught them how to use gold threads to create complex enchantments. I left out how you could use that to overlay other threads to crate a spell network.
I also had bought a large amount of land around England and now owned a fourth of the country. I was almost broke afterwards, at least in muggle money, however since I rented the land out I was quickly making my money back. By using some house elves the up keep on my lands was free and that saved me a lot.
I also had my magitech company which I had started with the Italians and the Americans. We had already built a magic cellphone that we were having the American and Italian ministries test out.
The idea I had on the train is that magical pictures can move from one photo to another and are connected to all other photos of itself. I thought to myself, what if I take a photo of a satellite tower and make it a magical photo. Would that photo be able to take the signals from the phones around it and move it through one photo and deposit it out of another.
The answer to this is yes and yes. We had finally succeeded in creating a cell phone network capable of running across the world. I had hired a number of magical researchers from around the world and after a rigorous background check that included a number of less than legal cross checking, we had opened a number of branches in other countries.
I had each new branch find out what resources and information in every area, including myths and legends. They would then cross check other information and figure out the truth.
It wasn't all just information gathering, I also had them searching for anything special in their areas and to test out why it was like that.
Wizards as I had found out, are often curious about everything and are willing to do anything in the pursuit of knowledge. That is when they have a direction to work in and aren't acting like arrogant fools.
Hermione came into my room after classes and handed me a parcel. "I won't be here for Christmas since I'm going home for the holidays. I figured I would give you my present before I left tomorrow morning."
"Thanks." I said while reaching behind me to grab the present I had gotten her. I handed her a magical cell phone I had custom made for her.
"What's this?" She asked looking at it quizzically.
"That is a cell phone I made at my magitech company. It's still in its testing phase but it should still work. This way we can still keep in touch over the holidays and you can reach me whenever you want. All you need to do is either picture me in your head or think my name and it'll connect you to me."
