My mother had taken me to a play date when I was 8. I had all the girls there blushing whenever I so much as looked at them and the boys treated me coldly, not sure telling them about the effects of a time turner malfunction was the best choice for breaking the ice. I had chosen that topic since it was interesting, but I guess that's only to those of higher intelligence. I did make a friend however. The old grandfather figure I met on the way to the bathroom.

As I was walking down the hall I heard mumbling from behind a door and decided to check it out. I opened the door to see a room with white boards all around it showing a spell formula for a healing spell to cure those who had received mental damage so severe it had caused damage to the soul.

As a person who had reincarnated I was also interested in this since it had an effect on souls if successful. I looked through the formula from beginning to end and only noticed the old man had stopped and was watching me.

"So young man, what do you think of this formula?" He asked while watching me like a hawk.

"I mean no offense sir, but I think the spell is going to fail no matter how you tweak it."

"Hoh, and what makes you say that?" He asked with a light in his eyes that told me he thought I was being adorable, though that quickly changed.

"Well your spell is meant to affect the aura surrounding the body. I begin while pointing out the individual parts of the formula. Your spell would then cause the aura to speed up the healing process of the body and cause the natural healing energy that is leftover once the body is completely healed to heal damage to the soul."

"The problem is that even if you use the aura to heal like this it wouldn't work since aura draws on the energy of the soul and it would simply end up going in circles slowly getting worn down by healing the body while only filling up the empty energy in the soul."

The old man took a seat and was listening to me as if I were teaching him, which in a way I was. "So how would you go about solving this problem?"

"I would use a spell on Dittany to make its effects affect the soul instead of the body." At this point the old man was sitting on the edge of his seat with a fire in his eyes. "This way when the patient ingests the potion it won't cause the aura to cause a feedback loop and will instead cause the aura to be partially blocked into the soul. This will also cause the soul to send more energy to the affected areas to correct the imbalance and this will cause the soul to naturally heal itself. When the healing is done the dittany would lose its effect and would leave non damaged parts only affecting the damaged parts. If you add in something to strengthen the souls energy it would possibly even make the healed parts even stronger than the non damaged parts."

"Hahaha, boy you are the most intelligent and ingenious child I have ever met. You just solved a problem I have been working on for over seven years in less time than it takes me to make a sandwich."

"Um, sorry I think." I say not sure if I did something wrong or not. I mean it was something he had put a ton of time and effort into, maybe he wanted to solve it himself.

"Don't be sorry lad, you just advanced medicine and created a cure for thousands of people all over the world who have damaged souls. I've been thinking of ways to get around the body and the aura and all sorts of things. This whole time I've been focusing only on the patient itself and failed to look at changing something else in order to cause a constant change and use that to heal the patient. You my boy are a genius." The old man stood up with a smile and tears in his eyes and patted my shoulder with his gnarled fingers.
