Chapter 37

Around Christmas I went to Godric's hollow. I had heard from Rock that Salt had found out that Harry, Ron, Hermione, Lupin and Sirius had all left the safe house to go pay respects to Harrys parents since he was finally an adult.

I set up a barrier using multiple spell machines in a formation around Bathilda Bagshot's house.

After everyone paid their respects Nagini appeared and lured Harry inside the house along with everyone else. I turned on the barrier once I was inside and trapped everyone inside. I took out my basilisk dagger and put in some venom. After a while I heard a commotion upstairs and saw Ron fall down the stairs unconscious. He seemed to have been pushed by Nagini using Bagshot's body.

I watched as spells hit Bagshot and she looked at Harry who was being told what was going on by Hermione. Bagshot opened her mouth and I threw the dagger right as Nagini flew out from her mouth at Harry.

My knife hit Nagini from the side and pinned her to the wall where she flailed around until finally coming to a rest as the basilisk venom finally killed her and destroyed the horcrux.

"Alex?" I heard Hermione whisper.

"Who else would come and save your asses in the middle of the winter and on Christmas eve no less?"

"Alex, I'm so sorry." Hermione cried out before tackling me to the floor and crying in my arms.

I sighed and said. Rock, take all of us to the camp.

"Yes sir."

We were all sent to a small cabin overlooking the lake outside Hogwarts. This of course caused Sirius and Lupin to be surprised. Harry was to busy feeling guilty and Hermione was still crying while refusing to let me go. Ron was unconscious in my bed.

"I'm so sorry." Hermione kept repeating herself.

"There's no need to be sorry Hermione. I did things that aren't considered morally right by most of the wizarding world, so I don't blame anyone for having problems with my killing." I told her while patting her on the back.

"Maybe so, but I'm your wife. I already knew that you were a slayer and that you would be killing dark wizards and dangerous creatures. I shouldn't have jinxed you and let everyone say such horrible things about you. You couldn't even move or say anything while we treated you like some monster and it's all my fault." She cried out.

"Hermione is wrong. We are all to blame for doing something so terrible to you Alex." Harry told me. "This whole time you have been protecting and helping us, you have even been killing so much just so we didn't have to. You took on all of this when it was originally something we should have been doing ourselves and we treated you so horribly. I am truly, terribly sorry for doing that, can you forgive us?"

"Like I said Harry, it was nothing. Finding out someone killed so many would make anyone have issues and question whether they could trust them. While I was hurt quite a bit by how you guys treated me I also understood why you guys did so. So there's nothing to forgive." I told him with a strained smile.

"You know Alex, sometimes it takes more then simply letting something slide to remove the guilt in a persons heart." Sirius told me. "Even if you don't care about what we all did to you, we all still feel terrible about it. You need to do something to us in return or we won't be able to forgive ourselves."
