RETREAT HOUSE

As the students arrived at the retreat site, the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a soft, warm glow over the peaceful surroundings.

The retreat houses were nestled among towering trees, their rustic charm blending perfectly with the nature around them. Each university had its own respective house, divided by gentlemen and ladies, ensuring that everyone had their own space. Yet despite the physical distance, a sense of excitement buzzed in the air, the promise of new friendships and unforgettable memories.

Sophie stepped off the bus, taking in the serene beauty of the retreat grounds. The gentle rustling of leaves and the distant hum of insects created a peaceful ambiance, a welcome change from the fast pace of university life. Groups of students from different universities gathered, their laughter and conversations already filling the air.

As everyone settled into their respective retreat houses, the initial divide between schools began to fade. The students mingled freely, with introductions quickly leading to shared stories and jokes. Though they came from different universities—Sophie from Seoul University, Avery from Yonsei University, and others from various institutions around the country—the barriers dissolved.

In the ladies' retreat house, Sophie found herself in a circle of new friends. The room was cozy, with soft lights casting a warm glow over the wooden interior.

Some girls sat on bean bags while others sprawled out on the floor, snacks scattered between them as they chatted about everything from studies to personal passions. Sophie smiled as she listened to their stories, feeling an instant connection with people she had just met.

I can't believe how beautiful this place is," one of the girls, Mina from Korea University, said, glancing out the window at the sunset. "It's like we've all escaped the world for a bit."

Sophie nodded. "It feels like the perfect place to slow down and reflect."

Meanwhile, over in the gentlemen's retreat house, Avery found himself in the middle of a lively conversation. Groups of guys from different universities, who would normally compete on the sports field or academically, were bonding over shared interests. The initial introductions had been awkward, but now, they were laughing and exchanging stories about university life.

The camaraderie was infectious. Soon, the gentlemen and ladies from both retreat houses were gathering around the outdoor fire pit.

It was the first night of the retreat, and as the flames danced in the cool evening air, the students from various universities began to blend into one cohesive group. Their differences in school or background no longer mattered. They shared laughs, stories, and even impromptu games, creating bonds that would last long after the retreat was over.

Sophie found herself sitting next to Avery by the fire, their conversation flowing easily as they talked about everything from their studies to their dreams. Occasionally, they'd join in the group conversations, but more often than not, they found themselves lost in their own world.

This is what I love about retreats," Sophie said softly, gazing into the flames. "You meet people you never would have otherwise. And somehow, in this peaceful place, it feels easier to connect."

Avery nodded in agreement, his angelic eyes reflecting the firelight. "It's like everyone lets their guard down here. It doesn't matter where we're from or what we study—we're all just people, enjoying each other's company."

The night deepened, but the energy around the fire remained bright. As the flames flickered and the stars twinkled overhead, the students from different universities felt their camaraderie grow stronger with each passing moment. In just a few hours, strangers had become friends, and by the end of the retreat, they would be more like family.
