Ali sat in his office, fully aware that tonight was the Gala—the event Sophie would be attending with Avery, her ex. Despite the flicker of jealousy he felt, Ali kept those emotions in check. He knew how important this opportunity was for Sophie and the future of SoperbK. It was business, after all, and Ali wasn't going to let his personal feelings cloud the situation.

He decided to call Sophie before the Gala to show his support. After a few rings, Sophie picked up, her voice warm but focused.

"Hey, Sophie. I just wanted to wish you good luck tonight at the Gala. I know you'll do great," Ali said, hiding the tension he felt underneath his composed words.

Sophie smiled on the other end, appreciating his thoughtfulness. "Thanks, Ali. I appreciate your support. I'll keep you updated on how everything goes. It's a big night for SoperbK."

Ali paused, then added casually, "By the way, Luis is  hosting a little celebration to his  mansion tonight. It's about his ownership of the new property.He invited me as well as Dr Luke and Ken.

Sophie laughed softly, "That sounds fun, Make sure you congratulate Luis and Ashley for me, though. And don't have too much to drink , okay?"

Ali grinned, even though she couldn't see it. "Don't worry, I'll behave. And Sophie?"

Yeah?"

"I love you. Be safe tonight."

Sophie's voice softened. "I love you too, Ali. Thanks for always supporting me. I'll talk to you later."

As they hung up, Ali leaned back in his chair, feeling a mix of pride and unease. He knew that whatever happened tonight, he trusted Sophie. But the thought of her with Avery stirred emotions he wasn't quite ready to confront. Still, for now, he had to focus on celebrating with his friends, knowing that Sophie was out there representing SoperbK with her usual grace and determination.

Sophie stepped out of her car, the evening air cool against her skin as she adjusted the hem of her off-shoulder, fitted gown. It hugged her frame elegantly, exuding sophistication and grace, every inch the powerful businesswoman she had become.
Her personal driver gave her a polite nod as she stepped away from the car and looked around. The grand entrance of the Australian Embassy stood before her, its lights glowing warmly against the evening sky.

Avery, already standing near the entrance, spotted her immediately. His heart skipped a beat as he saw Sophie emerge in that stunning gown. She was breathtaking, just as she had been when they were together, but now, there was something even more striking about her—an air of confidence, power, and poise.

He waved a hand, his nerves betraying him for a brief moment. Sophie saw him and smiled softly, her own heart fluttering unexpectedly. She waved back, and for a second, the world around them seemed to disappear, leaving only the shared history they once had.

"You're right on time," Avery said as Sophie approached. His eyes lingered on her, a mix of admiration and nostalgia stirring within him.

Sophie smiled, keeping her tone professional despite the rush of old memories. "Of course, I wouldn't want to miss this opportunity."

They walked side by side toward the grand doors of the Gala, their footsteps echoing in unison. Inside, the Embassy was alive with conversation. The room was filled with officials, government representatives, and the most powerful business figures from Australia and beyond, all mingling and making connections that could shift the course of industries.

Sophie took a deep breath, her mind focused on the task at hand. She wasn't just here as someone from Avery's past—she was here to represent SoperbK and secure the future of her family's empire.
