Sophie woke up early, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains as she lay beside Ali, who was still sound asleep. She smiled as she watched him for a moment, remembering the intensity and tenderness of the night before.

Careful not to wake him, Sophie slipped out of bed and found a piece of paper on the nightstand. She quickly scribbled a note:

"Ali, I'm heading to the office. Need to handle a few things. Call me when you wake up. Love you more."

She placed the note on his pillow, kissed his forehead gently, and quietly left the room, feeling a lightness in her step. Last night had left her refreshed, and despite the busy day ahead, she felt ready to take on whatever came her way.

When Sophie arrived at her office, the familiar hum of work greeted her. The view from her floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the bustling city, but her mind was focused on the documents sprawled across her desk. Sophie sat down and opened her laptop, pulling up spreadsheets and plans, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she made final adjustments to the proposal. Sophie hadn't realized how much time had passed until she glanced at the clock—it was nearly lunchtime. Just as she was about to wrap up her work, her phone buzzed. It was Ali calling.

"Hi, Ali," she answered with a smile.

"Hey, Sophie, miss you. 😘 Let's grab lunch. I'm craving something for this hangover," Ali said, his voice warm and relaxed.

Miss you too! Definitely! I could use something too," Sophie replied, laughing softly.

"I'll pick you up in a bit," Ali offered.

"Sure, I'll be waiting," Sophie said, feeling a rush of excitement.

Within 25 minutes, Ali arrived at her office. The moment he saw her, he walked over, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her softly.

I missed you," Ali whispered, his smile contagious.

Sophie smiled back, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I just need to finish these documents, and then we can head out."
