EVENING UNFOLD

From the moment Sophie woke up that morning, there was a buzz of excitement in the air. The sun cast a soft glow over the Hanok mansion, and Sophie could feel the energy of the day ahead. She had a lot to do before the evening gathering. She wanted everything to be perfect—not just for Avery, but for her family and friends who would share in this special night.

She decided to host the event on the back patio of the Hanok mansion, where the open space and the serene view of the sprawling gardens created the perfect atmosphere. The patio had always been her favorite spot, surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature and the elegance of traditional Korean architecture.

Sophie started early, overseeing every detail. She had decided on a menu that showcased the finest ingredients from SOperbK—fresh produce from their farms, beautifully sliced and arranged to highlight their quality.

She personally prepared samgyeopsal, the Korean barbecue dish that she knew everyone loved. The meats and vegetables were laid out on long, elegant tables, and she had chosen a selection of fine wines to complement the flavors.

The chef, who had worked with her family for years, had also prepared a stunning array of traditional Korean dishes, each one made with ingredients directly from SOperbK. The table was not just a feast for the stomach but a visual masterpiece, with every dish artfully arranged to celebrate the fruits of their labor.

Sophie smiled as she admired the beautifully set table—each plate, each flower, each candle carefully chosen to make the evening feel special.

Her parents, who had been helping with the preparations throughout the day, knew how important tonight was to her. They were aware, too, that Avery would be attending. They exchanged glances as they passed by Sophie, their expressions knowing.

It wasn't just that Avery had been a huge help to SOperbK—he had once been more than just a business associate. He had been Sophie's boyfriend, and though that relationship had ended decades ago. they all understood that this dinner had layers of meaning.

Sophie hadn't brought up the past, and neither had her parents. Still, there was an unspoken understanding between them. Her mother had caught her eye earlier in the day and offered a small smile, as if to say, We know, and we're here for you.

By early afternoon, the back patio had transformed into a stunning scene. The long table was set with beautiful linens and surrounded by elegant chairs. Fairy lights were strung above, casting a warm glow as the sun began to set, and candles flickered gently in the evening breeze.

Flowers, freshly picked from the garden, were arranged in delicate vases, adding a touch of natural beauty to the scene.

As Sophie stood back to survey her work, she felt a surge of emotion. This wasn't just a celebration of business success; it was a gathering of people who mattered to her.

She thought about Avery for a moment—how much had changed between them since their breakup. Tonight wasn't about rekindling the past, but rather acknowledging that they had both grown, moved forward, and could still appreciate each other's presence in their lives.

As the last of the preparations were complete, her parents came out to join her on the patio. Her father placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Everything looks perfect, Sophie," he said with pride. "Avery will be impressed, I'm sure."

Her mother nodded in agreement. "You've done such a wonderful job. It's a lovely way to show your appreciation."

Sophie smiled at them, feeling their support. "Thank you. I just hope everyone enjoys the evening."
