(This takes place on the same day as the last chap)

“Don’t forget to come here again next week!” Jeongin called out cheerfully, leaning against the doorway.

Jisung grinned, waving as he and Minho headed toward the elevator, their hands intertwined. “Definitely! Take care, Innie. Byeee!”

Jeongin chuckled softly, waving back as they disappeared down the hallway. He could hear Minho teasing Jisung about something, their laughter echoing faintly before the elevator doors shut.

Jeongin sighed through his nose, the quiet of the apartment settling in. It was strange how empty the space felt now, though he hadn’t realized how long they’d all been together. Eight hours. Time really did fly.

He turned back inside, shutting the door behind him, only to bump into Hyunjin.

“Oh! Sorry,” Jeongin stammered, immediately stepping back. He avoided Hyunjin’s gaze, worried he might’ve upset the hybrid.

Hyunjin stared at him, his tail flicking slightly behind him. For a moment, Jeongin thought he was about to get snapped at, but instead, Hyunjin grabbed his wrist.

“Wait.” Hyunjin’s voice was quiet, almost hesitant.

Jeongin froze, glancing up at Hyunjin in confusion. “Hyung?”

Hyunjin let out a shaky breath, his grip on Jeongin’s wrist loosening as he pulled him closer. Before Jeongin could react, Hyunjin wrapped his arms around him in a loose, slightly awkward hug.

Jeongin’s body tensed, his breath catching in his throat. This... was unexpected.

“Sorry,” Hyunjin murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jeongin’s eyes widened. Of all the things Hyunjin could’ve said, that wasn’t one he’d anticipated.

“I—what?” Jeongin stuttered, unsure if he’d heard correctly.

Hyunjin tightened his hold just slightly, his face hovering close to Jeongin’s shoulder. “I said I’m sorry,” he repeated, a hint of nervousness in his tone.

Jeongin blinked, trying to process what was happening. “Hyung... you don’t have to apologize.”

Hyunjin pulled back just enough to meet Jeongin’s gaze, his brows furrowed. “Yes, I do,” he said firmly, though his voice wavered. “I... shouldn’t have hurt you yesterday.”

“You didn’t mean to,” Jeongin said softly, shaking his head. “I scared you, and you reacted. It’s not your fault.”

Hyunjin frowned deeply, guilt gnawing at him. “You’re too nice,” he muttered, almost bitterly.

Jeongin gave a small laugh, his lips curving into a gentle smile. “Maybe. But I don’t think that’s a bad thing.”

Hyunjin’s ears twitched, his resolve crumbling under Jeongin’s sincerity. “M’still sorry,” he mumbled, lowering his gaze. Without thinking, he leaned down, pressing his face into Jeongin’s soft, fluffy hair.

Jeongin stiffened for a moment, but the warmth radiating from Hyunjin melted away any lingering tension. “Hyung?” he asked, voice laced with both surprise and amusement.

“Shut up,” Hyunjin muttered, his words muffled by Jeongin’s hair. He took a deep breath, the faint peach scent calming his nerves.

Jeongin laughed quietly, raising a cautious hand to pat Hyunjin’s head. He half-expected the hybrid to flinch or pull away, but instead, Hyunjin leaned into the touch.
