It was now time for the main event of SummerSlam as the WWE's Apex Predator Randy Orton puts his WWE Championship on the line against the benevolent Philippine mythical Aswang Alex Auditore in a street fight, in which anything goes. Earlier, new champions were crowned as Cora Jade defeated Asuka and Charlotte Flair, two former champions in their own rights to win the WWE Women's Championship and Drew McIntyre finally finishing his story of winning a championship in front of the live crowd as he dethroned and stopped the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns' dominance and became the new and inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.

The ring was set for the street fight as weapons were set up at ringside, ranging from chairs and tables to kendo sticks to even a tool box full of dangerous items. The Viper's theme played and the sadistic venomous Legend Killer made his way with his signature cold emotionless look on his face with his title draped over his right shoulder with Cody Rhodes accompanying him.

With his eyes directly set on the stage area, the WWE Champion waited for his former student and surrogate son.

The arena went dark as the Aswang's theme played. Then red lights turned on and shined down on the stage while fog filled the area; then a wooden casket was rolled out to the stage by four druid like figures. They then opened the casket and the Aswang slowly sat up with his straw cone shaped hat on. He got out of the casket and slowly made his way to the ring while the Viper stared down, showing no fear in his cold eyes.

Alex got in the ring and slowly removed his cone hat to reveal his new Aswang mask, which had some Fiend inspired designs with red and white all over. The two men stared down as the referee raised the WWE title. From the opening bell, Orton landed a right hand punch, but it didn't register as the Aswang did not feel the effect; Orton went for another punch, but the impact didn't register as the Aswang can only laugh it off.

Having enough of the mind games, Orton went for a sidelock, anything he can to ground Aswang Alex, but using his strength, Alex lifted his former mentor up and slams him down with a back suplex, making the WWE Champion roll out of the ring to escape and regroup. Seeing this, Alex climbed the top turnbuckle and took both Orton and Rhodes out with a diving crossbody.

The WWE Champion crawled away under the ring to escape, but it was a trap as the Aswang grabbed the Viper's foot, only to be fazed by a fire extinguisher. Randy took the opportunity and slammed Alex on the announce table with his signature belly to back suplex. Orton landed the suplex two more times before connecting with an uppercut to faze the Aswang more; Randy Irish whipped Alex to the steel steps, but the Aswang managed to stop in his tracks before sidestepping as Orton hit the steps shoulder first.

The Aswang went to get his weapon of choice which was a kendo stick designed after the Filipino martial art of Eskrima. Orton went to grab a kendo stick as well and the two were preparing for a spar. However, the WWE Champion was immediately disarmed as Alex used a bit of a Eskrima he learned to trap the Viper in a chokehold with a stick. Orton got Alex off, but was met with a shot to the stomach from Alex's stick.

The Aswang picked up Orton's disarmed kendo stick and showed off some of his balintawak Eskrima skills while taunting the WWE Champion. Orton called for Cody and the two were armed with steel chairs. Legacy lunged for the attack, but Alex used his Eskrima skills to stop the chairs and disarmed Cody and Randy and landed quick paced kendo stick shots on their bodies.

The Aswang got Cody near the announce table and proceeded to grab the American Nightmare by the throat and executed a chokeslam, breaking the table in pieces, neutralizing the Legacy lieutenant. But then Alex was ambushed with a kendo stick shot to the back, making the Aswang groaned in pain. The WWE Champion took down the challenger with a swing of the stick to his stomach before proceeding to taunt an old man sitting front row at ringside, which happened to be the Filipino Balintawak Arnis Grand Master, Bobby Taboada, who used to train Alex in the martial arts before he became a professional wrestler.

Bobby watched in disdain as his old student was on the steel steps while Orton stalked from behind. Orton prepared for an overhead shot, but Alex avoided it and grabbed another kendo stick to defend while the Balintawak grandmaster nodded and clapped as he shouted his old lessons at the Aswang.

Bobby: quick! Disarm! Now!

Alex deflected an incoming shot and quickly disarmed Orton before hitting him with the two sticks, much to the approval of grandmaster Taboada. The Aswang took a second to break character and bowed at his old master before continuing on the beatdown.

(Fast forward)

Orton nailed Alex with a draping DDT on the steel chair and was going to that special place. In the background, a table was leaning against the corner that was set up earlier. Orton was pounding the mat and was ready to strike for an RKO, but Alex got out of it and pushed the Viper to the table, only for Randy to stop in his tracks, but as he turned around, the Aswang lunged and speared the WWE Champion through the table.

Alex then dragged Orton to the center and placed his head on the chair. He then grabbed another chair and prepared to hit the con-chair-to, but Randy moved out of the last second and hits an RKO Outta Nowhere, but Orton was slow to make the pin and Alex got his shoulder up before the three count.

(End of the match)

The Viper set up a table near the turnbuckles and had the plan of RKOing the Aswang through the table. However, the challenger still had some life left in him as he superkicked Orton, making the champion stumble to the ropes. Under his mask, Alex still had some compassion for his former mentor, as he was the man who made him the WWE Superstar today. However, with everything on the line, the Aswang launched from the ropes and hits a V-Trigger knee strike.

Alex took a moment as breathed deep through his mask while he looked down at the body of his exhausted mentor. The Aswang chose to end it as he got Orton's 250 pound frame on the top turnbuckle. Then he positioned himself and got Orton on his shoulders as he slowly ascended the turnbuckles and proceeded to execute an avalanche One-Winged Angel through the table.

The Aswang crawled and placed his arm on Orton and the referee proceeded to count one... two... three and that was it, the match was over and a new WWE Champion was crowned.

As the dust settled, Alex was the one standing while Orton was recovering while he sat at the corner. Seeing his fallen mentor all banged up and bruised, Alex still had some passion inside as he removed his mask and slowly walked to the Viper and held out his hand to help him up.

Randy took a second to gather his thoughts, but nodded as he took his hand and got up. The Viper nodded and patted Alex's shoulder saying he's proud of him. SummerSlam ended with Randy raising Alex's arm while the benevolent Aswang raised his WWE title.
