Ehaan s POV

I leaned back in my office chair, feet up on the desk, as I waited for the meeting to start. My father had been acting strange lately—too many secret phone calls and whispered conversations with his assistant. He was up to something, and if I knew him, it had to be important.

Not that I cared much. The family business wasn’t really my thing, but keeping an eye on what moved the chess pieces was my way of staying ahead. And right now, something was brewing.

Dad walked in, as usual, all business and no nonsense. He scanned the room, eyes narrowing when he saw me lounging like I owned the place. “Get your feet off the table, Ehaan.”

I grinned lazily, lifting my feet down just enough to appease him. “Alright, alright. What’s the big surprise today?”

“You’ll see,” he said, before turning to his assistant. “Bring her in.”

Her?

I straightened up, curiosity piqued. The door opened, and in walked… Siya.

What the actual hell?

She looked more confused than me, clutching her bag tightly, her eyes darting between my father and me. A slight smirk tugged at my lips as realization dawned. This was going to be good.

“Ehaan,” my father said, his tone calm but firm. “Meet your new assistant, Siya Verma. She’s been recommended for her strong work ethic, and she’ll be helping you manage the expansion project.”

Siya looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her whole. She probably had no idea she was about to become my personal chew toy.

I stood up, casually strolling around the desk until I was right in front of her. My eyes scanned her face, watching the tension rise in her shoulders. She was nervous. Perfect.

“Welcome to the team, Siya,” I said, my voice smooth but loaded with mischief. “I’m sure we’re going to have… a lot of fun.”

Siya’s lips twitched into a nervous smile, but I could see the panic in her eyes. She didn’t know what she was in for. But I did. Oh, I knew exactly what to do with her.

My father nodded, seemingly satisfied. “I trust you’ll both get along well. Siya, make sure you’re ready to assist Ehaan with anything he needs.”

The moment he left the room, I turned to Siya, taking a step closer. She was so tense I could almost hear her heartbeat. “So, Siya… How’s the hangover?”

She blinked, clearly startled. “What?”

“You know, from last night. You and Rudra seemed to have quite the adventure,” I said with a smirk. I could see her pulse quicken at the mention of Rudra. Interesting. “Speaking of Rudra, I couldn’t help but notice the way he looked at you.”

Her face flushed instantly, and that was all the confirmation I needed.

Rudra liked her. And she had no idea.

Perfect. This was going to be fun.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Siya muttered, trying to avoid my gaze as she shuffled her bag nervously.

I leaned back, resting casually against the edge of my desk. “Come on, Siya. You think I don’t know Rudra? I know that guy better than anyone. And trust me, he’s interested. But the real question is, are you?”

Her eyes darted up to mine, wide and panicked. She was like a deer caught in headlights. “I-I don’t… We’re just… I don’t know.”

I chuckled, crossing my arms over my chest. “You don’t know? That’s cute.” I gave her a slow, knowing smile, just enough to make her squirm. “Well, we’ll see about that.”

The thing was, I wasn’t just messing with her because I enjoyed it—though, let’s be real, that was a major part of it. But there was something more to this. Rudra and I had a history of playing these little games, and this time, I had the upper hand. If Siya was going to be the key to getting under his skin, I wasn’t going to pass that up.

“Alright, Siya. Here’s how it’s going to go,” I said, my voice suddenly all business. “You’ll be with me every step of the way during this project. Whatever I need, you’ll handle it. Think you can keep up?”

She nodded, swallowing hard. “I’ll try.”

“Oh, don’t worry. I’m sure you will,” I said with a sly grin. “But try not to get distracted by Rudra. He can be… quite the distraction.”

I watched as she shifted uncomfortably, clearly trying to hold herself together. The poor girl had no idea what she was in for.

But that was the fun part. She was Rudra’s type—sweet, innocent, the kind of girl he could fall for. And I wasn’t going to make it easy for either of them.

“Anyway,” I said, moving away from her to pick up a stack of papers from my desk, “I’ve got some things for you to organize. We’ll be meeting with the contractors tomorrow, so I expect everything to be in order by then. Don’t disappoint me, Siya.”

She gave a hesitant nod and took the papers from me, her hands trembling slightly. “I won’t.”

I watched her walk out of the room, already plotting how to use her to mess with Rudra. He was always so serious, so guarded. It would be fun to watch him unravel a little.

As soon as Siya was out of sight, I smirked to myself. I knew Rudra wouldn’t take this lightly. And that was the point. He needed a reminder that I could still get under his skin whenever I wanted.

Let the games begin.
