Esha’s POV
I came back after the call
The moment I entered the hospital room, my heels clicking against the sterile floor, I could feel the tension thick in the air. Rudra was sitting on the edge of the hospital bed, holding his head like it was about to split in two. Good. He deserved every bit of pain after last night.
Ehaan shot me a sly grin as I strolled in, my oversized sunglasses perched perfectly on my head.
"Feeling better rudra?" I said in a sweet voice, though the venom was barely concealed
Rudra looked up at me, his expression cold, those dark eyes of his still full of contempt. He barely acknowledged my presence, just a hard stare as if I was the last person he wanted to see.
Ehaan chuckled beside me, leaning casually against the wall. "You know, Rudra, you’re pretty lucky.that we decided to take you to hospital cause we don't usually do this."
I smiled sweetly at Ehaan’s comment, enjoying the way Rudra’s jaw tightened. He hated being here, being surrounded by us. It was clear he couldn’t stand either of us at this point, and frankly, I loved the power it gave me.
"Let’s go, darling," I said, "You’re getting discharged. We need to get you home."
Home. **Our home.** The words tasted bitter in my mouth, but I made sure to keep the smile plastered on my face.
Rudra gave me a blank stare. He stood slowly, wincing from the pain but too proud to show how much it hurt. “I’m fine,” he snapped. “I don’t need your help.”
I raised an eyebrow, not missing a beat. “Oh, of course. Mr. I-Can-Handle-Anything,” I said with a smirk. “Yet here you are, after my little... accident.”
He shot me a cold glare, one that would’ve sent chills down anyone else’s spine. But not me. Not anymore.
Ehaan stepped forward, patting Rudra’s shoulder in a way that was both mocking and threatening. "Better listen to my sis, Rudra. She’s just getting started."
Rudra shook off Ehaan’s hand, his glare sharp enough to cut through steel. "I don’t need your little theatrics, Ehaan. I can handle myself."
I rolled my eyes and turned on my heel, heading toward the door. "Sure, sure. Let’s just get this over with," I said dismissively. "The car’s waiting. We’re going home whether you like it or not."
The Ride Home
The drive back to our house was dead silent. I sat next to Rudra, casually scrolling through my phone, acting like everything was completely normal, as if I hadn’t tried to bash his head in the night before. Ehaan was in the front seat driving, humming a tune, looking as carefree as ever. Rudra, though, stared straight ahead, his jaw clenched, his fingers digging into his palms.
I could feel his coldness radiating off him in waves. The way he was trying to pretend like none of this bothered him—classic Rudra. Always the tough guy. Always trying to act like he didn’t give a damn.
But I knew better. I could see through the cracks.
As we pulled up to the house, Rudra got out of the car without waiting for either of us. I followed, taking my time, enjoying the view of him trying to keep his distance from me. When we walked inside, the door barely clicked shut before he spun around to face me.
"What do you want from me, Esha?" he said, his voice low, cold, and calculated. "Yesterday—this morning—what’s your game?"
I smiled, a slow, deliberate smile as I stepped closer, invading his space. "Game? Oh, Rudra, don’t flatter yourself. Yesterday wasn’t a game. That was just me showing you what happens when you push me too far."
His expression didn’t change, but I could see the flicker of something in his eyes. Annoyance? Frustration? Maybe even a little bit of fear. But, of course, he’d never admit that.
"You’re losing it," he said quietly. "Both of you."
I laughed softly, leaning in closer until I could almost feel his breath on my skin. "Oh, Rudra... we lost it a long time ago."
Behind me, Ehaan chuckled, clearly amused by the whole situation. "You better watch your step, Rudra. Esha’s not one to let things go. You should know that by now."
Rudra’s eyes narrowed, his face like stone. "And you two are insane if you think this is going to work. You might have your fun now, but it won’t last."
I tilted my head, still smiling. "Who said anything about fun, Rudra? This isn’t about having fun."
He didn’t reply. He just stared at me, that cold, broken look in his eyes. I almost felt sorry for him. Almost.
But sympathy wasn’t something I could afford right now. He made his choices. He pushed me, and now he had to deal with the consequences.
"Now, be a good husband," I said, my tone sickly sweet, "and play your part.
"By the way My dear brother in law my wedding is tomorrow im looking for your arrival"ehaan said with a sweet smile which wasn't sweet
With that, I walked past him, not waiting for a response. Behind me, I could feel the weight of his glare, his silence more telling than anything he could’ve said.
I knew this wasn’t over. Not by a long shot.
And honestly, I couldn’t wait for what came next.
