Esha’s POV
I stood in the dim light of the hidden room, the weight of everything I had discovered pressing down on me like a heavy blanket. My heart raced as I clutched the journal, its pages filled with thoughts and observations—my thoughts. The photographs plastered on the walls, each capturing moments of my life that I never realized were being documented, sent chills down my spine. This wasn’t just a collection of memories; it was a shrine to my existence, curated by Rudra.
I needed answers. I couldn’t let this go. As I stormed out of the room, I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins. I had to confront him. Rudra had always been an enigma, but now he was a puzzle that begged to be solved.
I found him lounging on the couch, scrolling through his phone, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding in my mind. The sight of him stirred a mix of emotions—comfort and confusion, love and anger.
“Rudra!” I called out, my voice sharper than I intended. He looked up, surprise flickering in his eyes.
“Hey, what’s up?” he replied casually, but I could see the tension in his posture.
“Can we talk?” I crossed my arms, trying to steady my racing heart.
“Sure, what’s on your mind?” he said, his tone still light, but the glint in his eyes told me he sensed something was wrong.
I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. “I found something…something in the hidden room.”
His expression shifted, concern mixing with curiosity. “What do you mean?”
“The journal, the photos—why do you have them? Why are there so many about me?” I pressed, feeling a surge of defiance. “You’ve been watching me, haven’t you?”
For a moment, he looked taken aback, but then a strange, almost calculating smile crept across his face. “You don’t understand, Esha. I did it because I care.”
“Care? This isn’t care; it’s obsession! You’ve manipulated me, kept me under your watch like I’m some kind of experiment. Why?” I demanded, anger bubbling to the surface.
He stood up, his demeanor shifting from nonchalance to intensity. “I was scared, Esha. Scared of losing you. You have no idea what I went through losing my mom.iv loved her but she left me and then Ehaan i cared so much about our friendship but he broke it and then one thing i loved and cared was you .I couldn’t bear the thought of losing you too. So, I had to make sure you were always… focused on me.”
"You could have told me. You knew I liked you too"i said
"What if you stopped getting focused on me once you get me i want you to only be with me i can't afford to lose you"he said putting his cold hands on cheeks
“Focused on you? You think that’s love?” I shot back, incredulous. “You’ve turned my life into a game!”
“Game?” He laughed, but there was an edge to it, a hint of something darker. “No, Esha. It’s survival. I watched you, made sure you were safe. You thought you were in control, didn’t you? But you were mine. I couldn’t let anyone else have you.”
“What the hell, Rudra?” I felt a mix of horror and confusion. “You’ve made me believe I was just infatuated, that I was the one who wanted this.”
He took a step closer, his eyes boring into mine. “You were. But I needed you to be obsessed with me. It was the only way to keep you close. I did everything to ensure you wouldn’t look at anyone else. You are my happiness, Esha. I don’t want to lose you.”
“By stalking me?” I asked, my voice shaking. “By manipulating every moment of my life? This isn’t love. It’s twisted!”
“Twisted?” He grinned, a strange mix of admiration and madness in his eyes. “Maybe it is. But you can’t deny the bond we have. I made sure you were always looking at me, always wanting me. I needed you to see me as yours.”
“Rudra, this isn’t healthy! You can’t control people like that. You’re pushing me away!” I felt my heart racing as the truth settled in. “What you’ve done… it’s all wrong.”
His smile faded, replaced by a look of desperation. “No! You don’t understand. You think you control your feelings, but I know you better than anyone. I’ve watched you, studied you. I know what you like, what you want. I can’t let you go.”
“Let me go?” I repeated, my voice trembling. “You’re suffocating me!”
His gaze softened, the mask of control slipping for just a moment. “I don’t want to lose you, Esha. Not again. I’ll do anything to keep you by my side. Can’t you see? I can’t live without you.”
“What about Siya?” I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. “You were obsessed with her too. Is that why you acted the way you did?”
A chuckle came out of his mouth "that was a way of getting closer to you i knew you will do something to take siya from me so in that case I can keep you closer to me. It was all my game you and ehaan thought you guys controlled but you guys where just my puppets.i would go to any extreme to be with you not breaking one heart but many of its for you"
He stepped closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. “I needed to ensure you’d always come back to me, no matter how much I had to manipulate the situation.”
“You can’t keep doing this, Rudra! You’re not just playing with my heart; you’re toying with my life!” I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes, my heart breaking for the boy who felt he needed to control everything around him.
His expression shifted from desperation to something almost pleading. “I know I messed up, but I did it for you, Esha. I can’t let anyone else in. I thought if I kept you obsessed with me, you’d never leave.”
I stepped back, the weight of his words crashing over me. “You need help, Rudra. This isn’t love. It’s obsession, and it’s toxic. I can’t be with someone who can’t let me breathe.”
As I turned to leave, his hand shot out, grabbing my wrist. “Esha, please. Just think about what I said. I’m not a monster; I’m just… afraid.”
With my heart racing and my mind spinning, I pulled away from his grip, realizing that this was more than a simple conversation—it was a confrontation with a reality I don't understand.i went back to my room in confusion and dozed off.
