Katorns Pov:
When I brought the two creatures home I set them down in the living space and went to set our bags down upstairs and make some room for Velseirs belongings. Afterwards I headed back downstairs to go and get the boys but when I got to the place I left them they had gone missing.
I forgot to tell them to wait there.
I began calling them and I decided to use the new trick I learned from Velseir to get them to come to me. I hope they didn't get stuck somewhere. Not long after they came into my view and I sighed in relief. All of a sudden Velseir came darting towards me. He stopped right before he collided with my legs and held his arms above his head. This action was new and I didn't understand what he wanted so I just stared until he started pulling on my clothes. I decided to try picking him up and that seemed to be what he wanted. Then Kesey followed suit so I picked him up too and they were both back in my arms. Velseir began reaching for the direction of the stairs and I wasn't sure if I should but why not. He should see where he'll be living from now on... hopefully. I showed them all the rooms upstairs including the bathroom which Velseir seemed to be satisfied to see for some reason. Out of nowhere Velseir jumped out of my arms and ran off down the stairs followed closely by Kesey. I decided to go find them and made my way downstairs after them.
I Found them in the living room collecting the different pillows, blankets and other soft things they could get their hands on. Kesey was carrying a large pillow and a small towel in his mouth, while Velseir had his arms full with pillows and a throw blanket off the back of the communal seating bench. I was amazed at how much the two of them could carry despite their small size and Kesey's lack of possible thumbs. They both carried their bundles around the living area looking for a place to put them. When they decided there wasn't a good spot in the living area they moved on out of the room to my office.
They began looking around there too until they spotted a little nook next to the bookcase in the corner of the room. They placed their collection down and began scoping out the space. All of a sudden Velseir began chirping and gesturing to Kesey before he bolted out of the room. Although Kesey's sudden movement startled me Velseir just sat down and began sorting through the pile of things they had brought in.
I kept watching as I was curious as to what it was they were making out of all the soft things when I remembered the little pile of things they made whilst we were on the ship. Just as I pieced that together Kesey came back dragging with him the rug from the living area. I sighed and went to take the rug back when both of them sat on it and refused to move. It's not my rug. It's Avranga's and it's her favourite.
I decided to give up for now as I can always get it back later when they aren't looking. I stepped back and they both began dragging it to the corner. It was placed neatly in the small space and folded up slightly against the wall. Velseir then began constructing his pile though it was different from the one on the ship.
He used pillows for the walls and part of the ceiling in the lower front part and then a blanket for the upper part. The blanket also acted as a curtain for the entrance. The remaining things were put inside but I couldn't see what they were doing. I heard chirps and yips come from inside but I still didn't go over or interfere. Not knowing what would happen if I approached their nest. After a moment Velseir popped his little head out and made the calling sound to me. I slowly made my way over and waited close to the nest to see what he wanted. Noticing I stopped coming over Velseir emerged completely crossing his limbs as he sat on the floor.
Velseir once again did the noise but patted the ground Infront of him whilst doing so. I knelt down and he pulled back the curtain. What I saw was a cosy little hidy hole with Kesey tucked away to one side. I stood back up and Velsier ran back into his den. I decided to leave them to it and call Avranga to tell her that she's out of a rug. I genuinely couldn't bring myself to get it back by destroying their den.
