What happened between us

I woke up to the sound of my dog "buddy" clawing my door and heard him whimpering to come in
"Hey buddy what's wrong?" I say opening the door and letting him in.

He immediately Ran to my bed and laid down
"Hahaha you lazy boy" I giggle petting him

"Good morning sweetie make sure your ready for breakfast with the Walton's at 10" my mom says ruffling my hair

"Yeah yeah i knowwww" I say shaking my head "you excited to see jaden?" She says looking at me "I see him every day" I say avoiding eye contact with her
"I know but you don't talk to him every day"

"I mean it's not like we're on bad terms we're just different people now" I say shrugging "different people? Autumn me and Jess had to had to physically pull you guys away from each other all the time" she says laughing

"I'm just saying...we're okay like this" I say in a low tone

"Mkay if you say so. Cmon hop in the shower we're leaving by 9:40" she says getting up and leaving

I looked at the time and it was 8:30. I grabbed clothes and hopped into the shower. When I got out I decided to wear a denim skirt with a dark red top with two braids in my hair and grabbed my doc martens and headed down stairs

"There's my pretty princess" my dad says taking a sip of his coffee "good morning dad" I say sitting on the island and putting on my shoes

"You ready to go?" He says clapping his hands together "yuppp" I say hopping off the chair
"Alrighty let's get this show on the road I need to have bro talk with dj" he says grabbing his keys

"Hahaha mkay dad" I say laughing
My mom came downstairs and we headed out side to the car

"Good morning Brooke's" "good morning Walton's" dj and my dad yell to each other waving

The Walton's and us our next door neighbors and always go to breakfast together every two weeks on Sunday

I see them all walk out and towards their car and Jaden was the last one to get out of the house. He locked the door and looked at me before going inside the car.

Here's a little back story of
what happened between us

2 years ago

The summer before freshmen year every thing was normal. Me and Jaden always hung out all the time and went down to the lake to skip rocks and sneak out our windows to go to the gas station and get slushes and sour skittles. Until one day after he gets home from baseball camp and doesn't even tell me he came home two days early. I don't think anything of it until I put on my shoes one night and grab some money and sneak out of my window to tell him we're going to the gas station and when I get up to his window it was cracked open a bit and I could see he was on FaceTime with this girl. I didn't know who she was but I was Angry for some reason. I climbed back down and went back to my room and closed my blinds and I couldn't sleep the whole night. A few weeks had passed and jaden and I had barely spoken to each other. At one of his baseball games he had made the winning shot and this girl ran up to him and he spun her around and kissed her. I was shocked. I heard people cheering for him but I was so confused on why they were. Who even was this girl? Why is she hugging Jaden? My Jaden.

After the game everyone congratulated him as him and the girl held hands and I decided to just wait in the car. My parents asked me if I was okay and I told them to drop me off at home since I wasn't feeling well and they all planned on going out to eat for Jaden's win. They had dropped me off and for the first time in my life my heart started pounding heavily and I couldn't breath to the point I passed out on the floor. I woke up in the hospital and they had explained I had been diagnosed with anxiety. I had no idea what they were talking about since I've never felt something like this but my parents understood and hugged me and told me everything was going to be alright. When I went home the Walton's were waiting in our living room and jaden ran to me and held me. "I'm so glad you're okay" he whispered into my neck. I hugged him and told him I was okay and that I just needed some rest. After that day jaden and I stopped hanging out. He had a girlfriend now and I had nobody.

I remember the night I found out my mom had made dinner and we all sat down to eat and it was just me my mom and jess. "I just found out jaden had a secret girlfriend for the past month" jess had said making me stop eating "oh really?? Who is she?" My mom had said concerned

"Her names Ava and I guess they met at baseball camp" she says "wow I never expected Jaden to keep something like this from all of us. What about you autumn did you know about them?" My mom says looking at me and jess

"No. He doesn't talk to me anymore" I accidentally let slip out

They both stayed quiet and I looked down at my plate of food "yk me and your mom always wanted you guys to end up together" jess says rubbing my hand

"Thanks but I don't think that's ever going to happen. He's with her now"  I say as I continue eating. They continued eating and I sat there quietly thinking what happened between us.
