What happened between us

AUTUMNS POV

I didn't know why i decided to go find Jaden but I didn't want him to get kicked out of English and baseball. He loved baseball more than anything and I wanted to help him.

"Jaden" I try saying in a calm tone considering Ava's hands were on his waist and was basically laying herself on him

Jaden looked at me like I had caught them doing something which made me look down feeling so pathetic

"Yeah autumn?...did you need something" he says standing up straight and making Ava get off him

"Oh um I was just going to say I can help you with homework in class and after school if you'd like..." I say picking at my fingernails

"Y-yeah that would be nice thanks" he says looking back at Ava whispering something

Ava had looked at me with a angry/wanting to pull my hair look making me look at jaden

"Ok I'm coming" jaden says walking towards me

"Wait babyyy" Ava says running to him and pulling him into what I'm seeing a deep kiss making sure I see.

I turned around and began walking back to class and a couple seconds later I heard footsteps behind me

I got to class and went back to my seat

We didn't have assigned seats but jaden usually sat next to this boy who was also on the baseball team and I usually sat next to the window in the back

Today we had a test so I got out my computer and pulled it up

I was surprised when Jaden had came and sat next to me pulling out his computer

I focused on my computer and decided he would probably need some help so I reached in my bag for my notes

" here if you need them" I say putting the paper between us "oh yeah thank you autumn" he says smiling softly

I always loved when he smiled at me. Something about the way his dimples deepened and the way his smile lines were

I didn't notice but I was staring at his until he lowered his head towards mine "everything okay?" He says concerned "oh yeah I'm okay" I say looking back at my test

We were silent for the rest of class and heard the bell ring

"Thanks autumn I don't know what I would've done without you" he says handing me my notes

You've done it the last 3 years
I think to myself

"Yeah no problem I'm glad I could help"  I say putting them away

"Wanna walk to p.e together?" He says holding his backpack straps

"Yeah sure" I say

We walked in silence for a bit until he cleared his throat "mh- hm so um autumn I was thinking since your helping me with homework and all that stuff maybe I could take you out to like dinner or new books or something, or whatever you'd like-"
He says choking on his words a bit

"It's okay jay I understand what your trying to say but really it's okay making sure you stay on the baseball team is my main priority" I say instantly questioning my choice of words

He smiled at me until he looked back up "well I'm still gonna take you out for putting up with my dumbass" he says making us both laugh "okay okay if you say so" we walked into class and I remembered Ava also has this class with her friends who are probably the meanest girl at school

Me and jaden were dying  about a word he totally stuttered on and I had my hand in his arm trying my hardest not fall 

"Okay you can't tell anyone about that autumn" he says covering my mouth still laughing "oh I'm definitely telling the mothers-"

"Hey jaydy what's so funny?" Ava says pulling him away and wrapping her arm In his

"Oh nothing just something dumb" he says shrugging

Ava kissed him and I took that as my cue to go change into our p.e clothes

I changed and sat on the bleachers next to my friend Lucy and violet

"Hey autumn" Lucy says smiling "hi" I say smiling back at her " girl what was that??" Violet says whispering "what was what?" I say confused

"You and jaden you were practically all over each other laughing" violet says "yeah Ava and her friends all looked like they wanted to murder you" Lucy says looking at them

You could tell Ava always made jaden sit with her and her friends instead of his team antes who also had this class

"Alright class today we're going to be playing basketball so when I point at you and say red team or blue team go grab a jersey. Blue teams gonna be on the right side and red teams gonna be on the left understand?" Everyone said yes and coach started giving everyone their teams

"Jaden blue team, Ava red team-" "um coach can I be on the same team as my boyfriend?"

"You can survive a quick game by yourself Ava" the coach says making everyone laugh "ugh whatever then"  coach continued and then came up to us

"Violet your on blue, Lucy red, and autumn your on blue" we got up and put on our jerseys

"I don't wanna a be on red team that's almost Ava's whole friend group" Lucy said scared

Lucy had always been the sweet one in our trio and violet had always been the straight up one and I loved them that way

"It's okay just ignore them and try your best" I say rubbing her shoulder "don't worry girl it's a harmless game of basketball" violet says patting her shoulder

We all went to our side and I looked over at jaden who was already looking at me and gave him a little smile. He smiled back and we heard the whistle blow

I was never into sports and I was okay with it since I had hobbies already such as baking, reading, and a little piano. Jaden always said it was okay I didn't because it meant I could read us bedtime stories and how I could always bake for him after one of his games.

The game was 12-3 jaden had made 9 of those points

Ava had gotten the ball and I was blocking her "you think you're so perfect don't you??" She says low enough for only me go hear "what?" I say confused

"shut up don't act like I don't see what you're trying to do. I know you're trying to take Jaden from me but let me tell you autumn whatever Jaden saw in you before I'll make sure he never sees it again." She says shoving me making me fall onto the ground and feel a sharp pain in my ankle and making me let out a scream
