What happened between us

My dad drove us to the restaurant and when we got there we all sat down.

"Good morning autumn" Javon says with a warm smile "good morning wanna" I say sitting down next to him

Me and Javon have always been good friends but never like me and jaden. When Jaden and I grew apart Javon and Jayla always asked me what happend but how could I tell them when I dont even know. Telling everyone we grew apart was the easiest way.

"Dude we should get two different French toast and share half" Javon says looking at his menu "haha bet I'll get the Nutella one" I say looking at my menu "omg I'm totally getting the cinnamon one" he says excitedly

"Autumn doesn't like cinnamon" jaden says from across from me. I looked at him to see him looking at me and quickly turned to Javon "yeah dude remember?" I say hitting his shoulder playfully

"Ok well my baddd okay what about starberry with cream" he says pointing "oh yeah that looks good" I say nodding "okay bet"

"Jaden when do you think Ava will be arriving?" Dj ask from across the table "oh she's coming in rn"
He says looking up from his phone

"Why is she here?" I whisper to Javon "idk man she was practically begging my parents yesterday if she could come" Javon says rolling his eyes

"Hey fammm" Ava says coming in with big sunglasses and big hoop earrings. "Morning jady" she says before kissing jaden on the cheek and sitting down next to him

"Good morning" jaden says kissing her cheek and looking at me

I rolled  my eyes but not too noticeable but I think Jaden had seen.

"Okay what can I get for you guys?" The waiter says pulling out her notepad

We all ordered and now we were waiting on Ava

"Could you make sure the eggs are organic hold off on the salt and pepper and I want some toast on the side but I want white bread with no crust and with no salted butter and I'll have some freshly squeezed orange Juice"

She had said making all of us look at her

"Do you also want her to feed you?" I accidentally say out loud making everyone laugh except my mom

"Autumn." My mom says "what we were all thinking it" I say looking back down at my menu

"Okay I can't have that orange juice freshly squeezed but I'll get you it out of the carton" the waiter says smiling

We all started talking and while waiting for our food and Ava kept eyeing me

"So autumn what's up with the two braids you look like a farm girl" she says looking me up and down
"It's cute. What's up with the sunglasses it's cloudy outside and we're indoors" I say shrugging

"Well what's u-" she try's says before jaden pulled her back into her seat

I got up and went to the bathroom to wash my hands and wondered if I should take out the braids until someone walked in.

"Hey" jaden says Turing on the faucet "hey" I say taking out my hair tie to take out my braids "what are you doing?" Jaden says drying his hands "taking out my braids"

"Is it because Ava made fun of them?" He says raising an eyebrow "no I just don't want them anymore" I say shrugging

He was quiet until I heard him coming closer

"I know when you're lying. Keep them in " he says grabbing my hair tie and fixing my braid

We stood there in silence but I could still feel his breathing on my cheek and his knuckles rubbing against my collar bone

"There" he says putting my hair down "you look beautiful don't let her get to you" he says making me look up at him

We stood like that for a couple second until someone knocked "guys the foods out" Jayla says coming in "oh sorry didn't mean to bother y'all" Jayla says liking at us surprised

"Oh you didn't bother us I was just leaving" I say walking away

"Girl what was that" Jayla says whispering and holding my arm "I have no idea" I say sitting down

Jaden sat down and looked at me making me look away quickly

We all ate our food and talked for about an hour until we were all finished

"Okay guys us adults are going to the movies so which means y'all are going to hangout at our house or the Brooke's"

"I vote the Brooke's they have all the good snacks" daelo says screaming "haha okay well you can help yourself to the pantry mumps" my mom says rubbing his head

All of us kids went to the car while the adults paid for the meal

"Jady could I maybe come over?" Ava says holding his hand "idk it's not my house it autumns" jaden says looking at me

I looked away because there is no way in hell I'm letting this girl come into my house

"Ok well I'll just ask whatever her name is if I could go over" she says annoyed

" auntie Claudia?" Jaden says with a confused tone
"Yeah it's her house" "well it's also autumn's house so just ask her" jaden says making me scoff

"...fine, autumn could I come over and spend time with my boyfriend" she says with some attitude "well I think your good to go home you see him all week" I say scrolling through insta

"Yeah but I want to spend more time with him" she says with attitude again "that's cool you'll see him tomorrow at school" I say giving her the same tone

"Yk what nvm I'll just go home jady you wanna come??" She says pulling his hand a bit

"You heard my parents I have to stay at the Brooke's" "ugh fine we'll just call me when you get home okay?" She says pouting a Bit "okay"

She kissed him and they stood there for a couple second until he pulled away "I love you" Ava says smiling "love you too" he says before giving her one last kiss

Ava left and jaden just looked at me like a lost puppy. I continued scrolling through my phone and the adults came back and dropped us off at my house.
