JADENS POV

I zoned out looking at autumn. Staring at her beautiful brown hair and the cowlicks near her forehead. The way her eyelashes fluttered every time she move. She had been asleep for a while know and we where watching movies until we heard the front door open downstairs "kids were back!" We hear Josh aka autumns dad. Josh and I always got along he'd always make jokes about how I was the only exception to be his son in law and I always loved when he would say that. I was happy autumn wasn't the type of girl who was boy crazy but I wanted her to be crazy for me the way I was for her.

"Cmon kiddos were making Cajun chicken pasta" Josh says opening the door and looking at autumn who was curled up into a ball sleeping "oh my sweet princess" Josh says coming and moving a strand of hair out of her face. God how I wish I could be the one doing that. "She freezing Jaden could you pass me her blanket" he says pointing to her blanket right next to me "autumns always cold" I say chuckling a bit "yeah it's a good thing your always warm huh"he says wrapping the blanket around her and kissing her forehead

I let a small smile slip and I quickly stopped when he looked at me "alrighty are you staying up here?" He says to me "I mean I could yeah" I say quickly "okay then wake her up in about 20 minutes because she won't sleep tonight if she sleeps longer. Cmon kids let's go help the mothers make pasta" Josh says as they all walk out

"Yeah make sure your wife sleeps okay" Javon whispers into my ear making me punch his shoulder making him laugh "Kiddingggg" he says laughing more "no your not" I say scoffing "no I'm not" he says before closing the door

I sat down on the edge and looked down at her and softly grabbed her hand and took off her rings. She hates falling asleep with rings cause they make her fingers sore. Her hands were so soft and cold I held them a little after I took them off just to try and warm them up a bit I before I knew it I leaned in and kissed her forehead. I don't know for how long but I didn't care to move she was sleeping and it was just us in the moment. I removed my lips and pressed my forehead against hers "I'll always pick you" I say rubbing her hand before getting up and sitting on the opposite side of the bed before I say something else.

AUTUMNS POV

I woke up to someone rubbing my shoulder and seen Jaden standing above me "hey it's time to wake up. We're having dinner soon it's Cajun pasta" I got up and rubbed my eyes "oh my favorite" I say getting up "yeah I know" he says letting out a small laugh under his breath

I look at him to see him staring at me but just my eyes...it seemed like he was examining my eyes whole face. "O-oh well we should probably head downstairs" he says clearing his throat and leaving

He looked kinda sad? Like he wanted to say something but couldn't.

I walked down stairs and jaden sat down and the only seat open was the one next to him. I sighed and sat down looking everywhere but him

"Here's your plate sweetheart" my dad says giving me my plate "thanks dad" I say digging in

The adults all talked about random stuff and then brought up fall break "so do you kids wanna do something special for fall break?" Dj ask looking at us "you should totally let us throw a party since I'm technically an adult" Jayla says smiling

Jaylas been going on about how she wants to throw a big Halloween party and I wasn't a party person but I love Halloween so I was all on for it

"Jayla we've been over this. Kids now a days are always up to trouble. Now I trust you kids but not 30 other kids who can't handle beer" dj says shaking his head "cmon dad you know us we won't let anything get out of hand. If someone starts to cause trouble we'll just politely ask them to leave" Javon says in a begging tone

The adults stayed quiet and looked at each other "cmon dj just one party and we'll see how it goes" Jessica says rubbing his hand "fine. But you have to context us every hour and tell us how everything's going"

Dj says making us all smile "thank you thank you but thank you daddd I promise everything will be under control" jaylas says hugging him tightly

"Yeah yeah just be safe all of you. Us adults will be out town visiting some friends for a Halloween event so we'll be back on the 2nd in the morning so I better come back to a clean house" he says looking at all of us

"You got it" Jayla says smiling

We all finished up eating and I started washing the dishes while everyone was in the living room talking

"Need any help?" I hear jaden say behind me "oh um sure you can put the dry dishes away ig" I say focusing on the dishes

Jaden walked over and started puttting away the dishes and it was quiet except for the glass plates clinking "so...are you going to the Halloween dance this weekend?" Jaden says trying to create small talk "probably not" I say dryly "oh why not?" He says in a curious tone "nobody asked me?" I say obvious tone

"Oh right...sorry" he says softly. It was quiet for a couple seconds until I decided to ask him a question "are you going?" "Oh yeah I asked Ava the other night" he says making me wanna throw the sponge in his face

"Mhm" I say not looking up. We stayed quiet after that and after we were done the Walton's left and I went upstairs and changed into my pjs and set my alarm for school tomorrow. I have all my classes with Jaden great.
