Feeling her hand in mine and feeling her gaze on me felt perfectly normal, when she was invisible, given how deeply she loves me. However, when her body accidentally came into closer contact with mine, it stirred something in my mind. Specifically, when a wave pushed her against me, I could distinctly feel her right bosom and the right side of her waist pressing against my forearm.

How can I even tell her about this now? What's happening between and around me and her?

Actually, 'us'

Yes, I said it. I spoke out the word that had been urging me to reveal it every moment I was with her.

When she pushed me away and left the bus, I stood there, processing my actions. Then, I slapped my forehead and pulled at my hair, feeling overwhelmed and realizing that enough was enough.

After getting off the bus, I walked towards the dancing area and told everyone to get back on the bus, as our time here was up and the trip had come to an end.

Within minutes, they headed back inside the bus, and we departed from Goa towards our home town, Ooty, which is about 850-900 kilometers away.

As the night progressed, the students seemed both sad and smiling, except for Kamali and Seetha, who remained visibly upset.

I realized I shouldn't have shouted and behaved so rudely with her.

So, I waited until everyone had fallen asleep or was absorbed in their own activities. Then, I turned, gently taking her wrist and pulling her straight from Kamali's shoulder. Both of them gasped, just as I had expected.

"Munnaadi vaa"

(Come front)

But she wriggled out of my hold and leaned back, closing her eyes.

I didn't dare to look over at Kamali.

"Seetha"

I called her, glancing around to make sure no one was watching, and then reached for her hand again, but she crossed her arms tightly under her chest and turned her face away.

With a sigh, I faced forward, leaving her alone.

I was seated in the two-seater just behind the interior door, while she and Kamali were behind me.

As I tried to shift to the window seat, I noticed a hand resting on the bus wall near the door, and before I knew it, she had taken the window seat beside me.
