Seetha
When I turned invisible to search for Tum Yung Shi's daughter, I couldn't find her anywhere. I searched every corner of the godown and even outside it, but there was no sign of her.
Just as I was beginning to lose hope, I spotted a woman in a disheveled state near the gate. I rushed towards her and gently placed my hand on her shoulder from behind—but a sharp pain shot through me as something struck my left ankle.
I winced and looked down, only to see the woman—dressed in a distinctly Japanese style—staring at me in panic.
Before I could utter a word, she hit me again, this time on my right ankle.
I caught a glimpse of the metal rod in her hand. I quickly grabbed her wrist to stop her from landing another blow—but the moment I touched her, she suddenly became visible... and I remained invisible, collapsing onto the floor from the shock.
Panicked, I watched the scene unfold before me—Tum Yung Shi reaching out, trying to hold his daughter's hands, only for her to shove him away.
But the most heartbreaking sight of all was my husband, desperately searching for me, tapping the floor with his right hand, tears spilling as he cried out my name.
Choking on my own sobs, tears streaming down my cheeks, I pushed myself off the floor and limped towards him.
With trembling resolve, I placed my hand over his. He flinched, sharply turning towards the invisible grip that held his hand—and in that moment, as I saw the flicker of recognition in his eyes, I smiled through my tears.
He was completely panicked—and when he pulled me into his arms the moment I regained my visibility, I understood that to him, it was nothing short of getting his life back.
He had suffered so much. And I never want us to go through something like this again.
It was for that very reason I chose to become invisible—risking my life, becoming as good as dead—to bring back that man's daughter.
And, even now, I don't want my husband to do anything to that man, anything that might lead to a future of revenge from his family if they decide to side with him or believe his twisted words.
I'm scared—scared for the downfall of our own family. That's why I don't want my husband to take any step against that psycho. Not if it means putting us at risk again.
Now, I was pulled back to reality when I felt a hand gently curl around my calf.
I looked up to meet my husband's eyes, and he asked,
"Room'ku polaamaa? Konja neram rest edu"
(Shall we go to the room? Take some rest for a while)
I swallowed hard and nodded.
He came closer, lifted me into his arms, and walked towards the room on the ground floor.
