I know. I'm mad. Truly mad just like her. That night, she left me alone, furious at me, just as I had walked out on her mid-shower, completely bare and tempting—when all I wanted was to make her scream my name as I claimed her harder.
Yet, we both stayed stubborn in our silence.
But the next morning, when I woke up next to her, her eyes shut tight, pretending to be asleep. I couldn't help but smile at her act, shaking my head wondering what my little wife was doing.
Before heading to the bathroom, I bent down and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead—our usual morning ritual, one I couldn't skip even if we were mad at each other.
After my shower, I walked out with a towel slung low around my waist, another towel in hand as I dried my hair. That's when I saw her, focused on her laptop, fingers flying over the keyboard.
I cleared my throat. Her fingers paused for a second—just a second—before continuing like nothing happened, made me smirk.
Walking over, I grabbed my phone from the nightstand beside where she sat cross-legged on the bed, plugged it into the charger, then made my way to the closet to get dressed.
After getting dressed in my white shirt, and blue pants, I stood before the mirror, cuffing my sleeves when she walked out of the restroom wrapped only in a towel.
My breath caught. Was she trying to seduce me or what? I bit my lip, suppressing the urge to react, and turned my focus back to fixing my hair.
I took my wallet, tucked it into the back pocket of my pants, and walked back to unplug my phone.
As I packed my laptop into my bag, I glanced sideways at her just in time to see her pausing behind me, giving me a long stare before heading into the closet to change, made me smile wide.
Then, when I was making coffee for Appa and her, and milk for myself, I heard someone clear their throat, followed by,
"Enna da magane? Enna inniku nee charge eduthukuttiyaa?"
(What's this, son? You're taking charge today?)
I smiled seeing him and went back to concentrating on making coffee. He came and stood beside me, placing his hand on my shoulder. I tilted my head back slightly to check if she was coming, then turned to Appa and said,
"Sanda potrukkom"
(We had a fight)
He sighed and asked,
"Yen da ipdi irukkinga rendu perum? Yeppo paaru sanda"
(Why are you both always like this? Always fighting)
He huffed and walked over to the fridge to take some eggs, while I just chuckled and finished making the coffees and milk, placing them on the counter. Then I turned to see him coming over with the eggs and he asked,
"Egg friend rice panneertumaa?"
(Shall we make egg fried rice?)
"Avalukku?"
(For her?)
I asked.
"En marumagalukku inniku briyani"
