5 years later...
A few weeks after New Year.
In a small, warm and cozy house, crayons and toys are scattered across the floor of the living room. A bright, dazzling Christmas tree stands in the corner while shimmering strings of lights hang on the wall.
In front of the kitchen sink, stands a beautiful person doing the dishes. His alluring eyes glance out at the window to the left. The snow hasn't stopped.
Outside is covered in white, giving off a pure feeling, like that feeling of innocent love, quite melancholic—reminding him of how he didn't get the chance to see the first snow with the man he loves.
He ponders... seasons are fleeting. Soon, Spring will swing by, then Summer will soar, and then Fall will arrive—becoming six years.
Jimin places the last plate on the dish holder. He dries his hands with a nearby towel before walking out of the kitchen.
"Minkook-ah, didn't I say to clean up after playing?" Jimin says as he walks across the living room.
Quiet.
No response.
He turns back and takes a peek at the four-year-old who’s sitting at a miniature dining table. The little guy is coloring in a coloring book, looking too serious.
He looks distressed for a child, like dark clouds are hanging above his head and frail shoulders. His pale, chubby cheeks appear even more bulging, since he's wearing his favorite seaweed-green beanie around his head. His tiny chin and button nose even appear sad.
Jimin slightly chuckles at the little guy's facial expression. He moves to sit on the floor, right next to the little ball of delight who's sitting on a blue plastic chair.
"What's wrong?" Jimin pokes the small shoulder with a finger.
The little guy's eyebrows furrow together even more now, his lips pursing together. His small fingers make the green crayon appears large in his hand. His fingers grasp tightly on the crayon, silently, diligently coloring the sheet.
"Talk to me, hmm?" Jimin tries to catch the gaze of that little ball of delight. "Minkook-ah, didn't you say let's both be adults?"
The small, distressed face finally tilts upward and murmurs, "Minkook have a question."
"You always have a question. What question do you have this time?
Are pirates attacking again? Should I prepare the ship now?" Jimin's eyes glow playfully at Minkook, but the little one frowns in return."Jiminie must answer Minkook," the child says.
Minkook must be serious this time that he didn't play along to the pirate scenario. "Okay baby, ask first then Jimin will think about it."
"So... well... Minkook friends have Mama and Papa. Taegi have his Papas. Neni have Mama and Mama. But Minkook... Minkook only have Jiminie?"
The little boy has a serious expression on—his eyebrows stay furrowed while he stares attentively at his father, waiting for an answer.
After a pause, Jimin chuckles lightly. With all the love he has, he wraps his baby into a warm hug. "Jiminie is both for Minkookie. Isn't that cool? You don't like that?"
Minkook hops out of that warm embrace and stands on his own. Both of his hands raise up to fix his beanie, making sure it's neat. Then meekly, he says, "Jiminie is one, not a pair."
Minkook holds his two tiny fingers in a peace sign. His round eyes stare at Jimin, trying his best to explain so Jimin will understand. His other finger points at his peace sign, counting it, one-two, a pair.
