"Can I sleep with you? Minkook wants his Halmeoni to tell him stories."
"No."
Right away, Jungkook shuts the door, but Jimin manages to slide his pillow between the slim opening, preventing it from completely closing.
Determined, Jimin stands against the door, not letting Jungkook push him away. "Let me sleep in your room. It's cold on the couch. I can't fall asleep."
"I don't care," Jungkook says coldly through the solid barrier.
"Jungkook, why are you so mean? I'm asking you nicely."
"So what?"
The person on the outside softens his voice and tries to charm adorably. "Well... don't be so mean." He smiles with his tone. "Jungkook-ah." He appeals pleadingly. "Let me in. I promise I won't bother you. I'll sleep still and won't move or make a noise. Please. Don't be mean to me."
He dares use this tone.
"Who do you think you are to be speaking like this to me?" Jungkook retorts thunderously.
"Well..." Jimin pauses a few seconds before he asks earnestly, "Are you so afraid of me that you keep avoiding me?"
Silence strikes the blockade, and the stalemate is resolved. Gradually, the pressure from inside the door reduces. Easily, it opens.
Jimin becomes nervous as Jungkook appears mad again. It's impressive how many times a day Jungkook's mood can turn sour. Fiercely, he snatches the pillow from Jimin, pulling it into his territory along with its owner.
Swiftly, the door slams shut.
Faltering into the room, Jimin quickly regains his stance and backs away from the man by the door.
"Afraid? Why would I be afraid?" Jungkook charges toward him.
"Maybe I used the wrong word, but you are avoiding me." Jimin tries to stand his ground and not back up. "Why do you keep avoiding me?"
Jungkook takes one more step forward. "I am not avoiding you."
"Then what's with your actions?"
"Isn't it obvious?!" he snaps. "I want nothing to do with you! Why won't you get it?!"
Well, it is obvious but... Jimin presses his lips together and thickens his face. "Sorry to disappoint you, but you still have a lot to do with me. And you'll continue to have something to do with me."
Jungkook frowns. Why is Jimin doing this? Is he here to torture me on purpose?
"I'm going to put some of my stuff in your closet. By the way, I'm not asking you. I'm politely telling you." Jimin masks a stern face. Shameless is the way to go. Jungkook doesn't see him in a good light anyway. Right now, he just needs to push through somehow.
"So I can't even say no," Jungkook scoffs.
Jimin keeps his chin up and goes straight to his belongings in the corner of the room where he left them earlier. He sits on the floor and unzips the suitcase, trying to look as busy as possible; meanwhile, he feels a pair of eyes continuously watching him.
Why does Jungkook keep watching? Go do something else. There's too much tension like this.
"Jimin."
He glances in the direction of that voice only to find the handsome man lowering, settling down next to him on the ground. Then, Jungkook wriggles closer to him.
"What are you doing?!" Jimin asks perplexedly.
In his regular indifferent voice, signaling a truce, Jungkook questions, "What are you and my mother planning to do?"
