Sarah lay on the infirmary bed, unaware of what had happened after the Dementors arrived in the forest.
A hand rested on her shoulder, gently shaking her. She opened her eyes, immediately feeling the sharp discomfort from the rays of the sun."Sarah... Sarah, please wake up, we don't have time," Hermione moved towards Harry, doing the same to him.
The girl felt a sharp pain in her left cheekbone, touching it with her hands, she felt a small bandage over the wound.
"What's happening?" she mumbled, her throat was burning and it was difficult for her to speak normally.
"Sirius is about to be executed, Sarah. The Dementors will use the Kiss."
The girl quickly stood up, trying not to focus on the dizziness that hit her as soon as she was on her feet.
The doors of the infirmary opened, and Albus Dumbledore calmly walked towards them.
"Headmaster, you have to stop them. They've got the wrong man, he's innocent," Hermione said quickly.
"Yes, it was Scabbers," said a voice behind them. Ron was lying on the bed, his leg now bandaged due to the bite Sirius had inflicted on him.
"The point is, we know the truth," Sarah began speaking, interrupting Ron, "please, you have to believe us."
Dumbledore looked at them one by one, his hands behind his back.
"I believe you, Miss... Black."
Sarah flinched at hearing her real surname for the first time.
"But the words of three thirteen-year-old wizards will convince very few, I'm afraid."
The headmaster glanced at the necklace around Hermione's neck.
"Time is a mysterious thing... powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the cell at the top of the dark tower," he moved towards the door slowly, still looking at the curly-haired girl.
"You know the law, Miss Granger. You must not be seen. And I would advise you to return before the last stroke, otherwise, the consequences will be too devastating to speak of. If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life will be spared... three turns should be enough."
And without saying another word, he left the children alone."What did he mean?" Sarah asked, looking at her friend.
Hermione took out a necklace with a large pendant from under her shirt, placing it around her two friends' necks as well.
She began to touch the object, pushing Harry's hand away when he tried to touch it.
After turning it three times, they started to feel a strange sensation, time rewinding, the hall filling and emptying quickly with the people who had been there the day or night before. After a few seconds, with the infirmary now empty, time resumed its normal course.
Hermione put the necklace back on and hid it again.
"Okay, where were we yesterday morning?"
"We were going to Hagrid's, why?" Harry said.
"Let's go! We mustn't be seen."
Without another word, they started running towards the hut outside the school.
They only stopped when they saw, from a distance, Hermione, Harry, and Ron standing in front of Draco Malfoy. The girl punched the Slytherin, leaving Sarah stunned.
"I missed that scene? God, why am I never there when these things happen?" Sarah murmured, making the other two laugh.
"Nice punch," said Harry, as Hermione laughed.
The girl crouched down on the ground, took the necklace in her hands, and showed it to her friends."This is a Time Turner, okay? McGonagall gave it to me during the first term. That's how I attended all the classes this year. It's obvious that Dumbledore wanted us to come back to this moment. Something happened that he wants us to change."
They quickly moved out of the way when Malfoy started running towards their direction.
They followed their figures as they met up with Sarah. The three moved without being seen, hiding behind the pumpkins in Hagrid's field, allowing them to also see what was happening inside the hut.
From a distance, Fudge, along with Dumbledore, was walking towards them, with the executioner following behind.
"I need to hurry," Harry was about to get up, but Hermione stopped him.
"Fudge needs to see Buckbeak before we kidnap him, or he'll think Hagrid set him free."
Sarah nudged Hermione's arm, noticing how the headmaster was getting closer and closer.
"Why don't we leave? We're still there."
Hermione looked inside the house, doubtful. She spotted a small rock on top of the pumpkin in front of her and recognized it as the one that had hit the vase that morning. Without thinking, she picked it up and threw it into the hut, hitting the object first and then Harry's head.
The boy rubbed his head. "Are you crazy?"
But they didn't have time to say anything else as they saw their past selves exiting through the back door.
"Go, go, go!" They moved quickly behind the trees to avoid being seen.
Only when Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Sarah from the past had left did Granger move closer to Buckbeak.
She picked something up from the ground to try to coax the animal toward them. In her hands, she held dead ferrets, likely the food Hagrid had prepared earlier.
This helped the three of them as they slowly managed to lead him towards the forest behind them.
Together with Buckbeak, they began running through the trees, getting closer and closer to the Whomping Willow.
"What do we do now?" Harry asked.
"We save Sirius, right?" Sarah said, feeding the animal more food.
They arrived just in time to see Lupin stop the tree and enter, followed by Snape.
Hermione turned to her friends and sat down on the damp grass, motioning for them to do the same.
"All we can do now is wait. We need to see everyone come out of the Shrieking Shack."
Sarah looked around. The only sound they could hear was the thousands of bats flying quickly overhead.
"At least someone's having fun..." Black murmured, playing with her shoelaces.
