You arrive at Rin's place, excited to see him after what feels like ages. It's supposed to be a chill day, a break from the chaos of your daily lives. You miss him-miss the way he used to make you feel like you were the most important thing in his world, back when his eyes weren't filled with nothing but soccer. Lately, it's been different. Rin's focus on beating Sae, his brother, has consumed him more than ever, and it's slowly eating away at what you both share.

When you enter the room, he's there, stretching, doing his usual post-training routine, as meticulous as ever. "Hey, Rin," you smile and call his name, hoping for a little bit of warmth, but all you get is a brief glance and a grunt. He's already in his world, mind deep in whatever he's plotting in his mind.

"I'm glad I could finally visit," you say, attempting to initiate a conversation.

"Mm. Yeah," he replies absently, his gaze not even meeting yours as he continues stretching. The usual sting of being brushed off settles in your chest, but you push through it, trying not to let it ruin the moment.

But you can't hold it in anymore. The words bubble up to the surface, years of watching Rin spiral into an obsession that's changed him. And now, it's bleeding into your relationship.

"Rin... can we talk? You've been different lately, and I'm-"

"Not now. I have a lot on my mind," he cuts you off, still not sparing you a look.

That's when you feel it, that frustration you've been pushing down for too long, rising to the surface. "Rin, this isn't just about soccer. This is about us! You've been so fixated on your brother, that you're losing yourself-you're losing us."

Rin finally stands, his expression turning from indifferent to cold. "So now you're telling me how to live my life? How I should handle my own brother?" His voice is sharp, but you press on. You have to.

"I'm telling you that this obsession is changing you! You're not the Rin I fell in love with anymore. You're pushing everyone away, including me."

He scoffs, and the hurt in your chest deepens. "It's always about how you feel, isn't it? I'm doing this for me, for my future, and I don't need anyone getting in my way."

You feel the tears welling up, but you stand firm, refusing to let them fall. "I'm not getting in your way.. I just want to help you, but you're shutting me out."

Rin steps closer, and his voice rises. "Maybe you're the one who doesn't understand. If I don't do this, I'll be stuck in my brother's shadow forever! You think I care about anything else right now?"

His words hit you like a punch to the gut, and that's when the tears finally spill over. "Rin, I care about you more than anything, but you're breaking us apart..."

He narrows his eyes, his frustration boiling over as he yells, "Then maybe you should leave if you can't handle it!"

Your breath catches, and the silence that follows his outburst is deafening. Rin, who never loses control like this, who always keeps his emotions locked tight, just exploded. And now, you stand there, stunned, as the tears fall freely.

Without another word, you turn on your heel and head for the door. You can't take this anymore. His obsession, his anger-it's too much. You reach for your bag, ready to walk out, your heart breaking with every step.

But before you can reach the door, you hear hurried footsteps. A hand wraps around your wrist, firm but gentle.

"Wait."

You freeze. Rin's voice, usually cold, sounds different now-desperate.

"Don't go."

You turn slowly, eyes red and puffy from crying, and meet his gaze. His teal eyes, usually so hard and guarded, are filled with something you've never seen before. Vulnerability.

Rin pulls you into his arms, holding you tightly against him, almost as if he's afraid you'll vanish if he lets go. "Please don't leave me," he whispers, his voice shaky. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean it."

You break down in his arms, sobbing into his chest. "Rin, I just... I just want you back. I want us back."

His grip tightens, and for a moment, you stand there, both of you lost in each other's pain. Slowly, Rin pulls away just enough to look at you, his thumb gently wiping away your tears. "I know I've been distant... and I know I've hurt you. I'm... I'm trying to figure everything out, but I never wanted to hurt you."

Your heart softens at his words, and you can see how much he's struggling with everything. "Rin, I just want to help you. I don't want to lose you to this...to your goal."

He sighs, running a hand through his dark green hair. "I've been so caught up in it, trying to be better than him, that I've lost sight of everything else. Including you. I.. I'm sorry."

You look up at him, your hand gently resting on his chest. "You don't have to prove anything to me. I love you for who you are, not who you think you need to become."

Rin looks down at you, his face softening in a way that's so rare for him. "I'm sorry," he says again, and this time, the sincerity in his voice makes your heart ache.

You nod, feeling a weight lift off your chest as the tension between you dissolves. "Just... talk to me, Rin. Don't shut me out."

He nods, pulling you back into his arms. "I'll try. I promise."

The two of you stay like that for a while, holding each other in the quiet comfort of the moment. Eventually, Rin leads you to the couch, pulling you down beside him. He wraps an arm around your shoulders, tugging you close as he rests his chin on top of your head.

"I don't deserve you," he murmurs, his voice soft but heavy with meaning.

You tilt your head to look up at him, your fingers tracing light patterns on his chest. "Maybe not, but you're stuck with me anyway," you tease, a small smile playing on your lips.

Rin chuckles, a rare sound, but one that warms your heart. "Lucky me, then."

You both fall into a comfortable silence, the earlier fight feeling like a distant memory. Rin's hand strokes your hair gently, and you feel yourself relax completely in his embrace. It's moments like these that remind you why you love him so much-the quiet, tender side that he rarely shows anyone else.

After a while, you yawn, snuggling deeper into his side. "I could get used to this."

Rin hums in agreement, his grip tightening slightly around you. "You better. I'm not letting you go again."

You smile, feeling safe and loved in his arms, the weight of the day finally lifting off your shoulders. And as you drift off to sleep, you know that, despite everything, you and Rin will always find your way back to each other.
