The moment Liu Xiaoyu lost her temper, she regretted it. In the operations room, a stern-looking middle-aged man in uniform immediately walked over and tapped on her desk. "Liu Xiaoyu, control your emotions. This is a critical situation, and you must not let your personal feelings interfere with your work."

"But Captain, that guy clearly knows something but refuses to cooperate..." Liu Xiaoyu tried to explain.

"In situations involving the supernatural, most people's mental states are compromised. You need to be understanding, tolerant, and even comforting. That's why most operators are female. If you can't handle this job, you're free to resign," the middle-aged captain stated firmly.

"Yes, Captain," Liu Xiaoyu lowered her head, acknowledging her mistake.

"Reflect on this later. Don't let it happen again. I'll take over this conversation, and you can observe and learn," the captain said.

"Hello, I'm Zhao Jianguo, Liu Xiaoyu's supervisor. I apologize for her earlier conduct. She's inexperienced, and I've already reprimanded her. However, I hope you understand the gravity of the situation and continue to cooperate with us at Interpol for this investigation. If you're agreeable, we can resume our discussion."

Zhao Jianguo's voice was steady, exuding a sense of reliability.

The captain, huh? Yang Jian thought to himself on the bus, realizing that this might be the highest-ranking official he could reach for now.

"I'll tell you everything about Zhou Zheng, without omitting a single detail. But in return, I want to know some things that I have a right to know," Yang Jian replied. "The reason I didn't cooperate with Liu Xiaoyu earlier is that her rank is too low, and she doesn't have the authority to make decisions."

The voice was young, and although the approach was a bit immature, it was clever.

Zhao Jianguo's expression shifted slightly as he jotted down a note:

Name: Zhang Wei (To be confirmed)
Age: Approximately 20
Personality: Though somewhat inexperienced, he is cautious and intelligent beyond his years.

"Agreed. Since you're aware of Zhou Zheng's situation, you must also understand the nature of supernatural events. I can share some information with you, but first, please describe Zhou Zheng's situation," Zhao Jianguo said.

"I've already told you, Zhou Zheng is dead. He died last night around 8:30 PM on the fifth floor of the Seventh High School in Dachang City, in the hallway. Cause of death: ghost resurgence—the ghost infant escaped," Yang Jian replied directly.

Concise and to the point, with no beating around the bush.

Zhao Jianguo was silent for a moment before continuing, "So there was a supernatural incident at the high school that night?"

A ghost-handler dying from ghost resurgence usually means they were forced to use their ghost's power, which typically happens in emergencies.

"Yes," Yang Jian confirmed.

"Can you describe it?" Zhao Jianguo asked.

"Sure, I was in evening self-study with other classmates at the time..." Yang Jian began recounting the events of the previous night.

Zhao Jianguo gestured to Liu Xiaoyu beside him, "Prepare to establish a new ghost file."

Liu Xiaoyu quickly started taking notes, opting for handwritten records over a computer.

"Ghost domain... knocking kills... the ghost in the stairwell restroom... phone transmitting the knocking sound..." As Zhao Jianguo listened and noted down the events, his expression grew increasingly grave.
