Flower shifted a bit, groaning as she finally woke up. Huh... it seemed they were finally back on Earth. There wasn't any sign of the Freesmart van anywhere... or for that matter, anyone besides her.
"Pencil?" She called out, noting the scenery around her... why was everything so blue ? "Pen? Golf Ball?"
She kept calling out names, until someone responded.
"Golf Ball? Isn't she still competing for the Power of Two?"
"H-huh?"
Flower blinked, noticing...Gelatin. He was watching her walk around in a daze, staring at her confused.
"Gelatin, what's going on? Where is everyone...Why is the floor blue?"
"Flower, are you okay?"
Wait... was that a dream? A dream that lasted what felt like a full year and a half...? No, no that couldn't be... right? Well, at least she was back where she was... or at least it looked like it, judging from how blue the ground was and the Four-shaped cacti surrounding the area.
"Oh, I'm fine, Gelatin... I just had a really, really weird dream."
Flower knew she wasn't fine, however. All that time she thought she was at risk of going back inside the TLC, making new actual friends, the potential to win, or at least be invited to, the real, actual Dream Island... and it all ended right before she originally rejoined. What a slap in the face that was. It was then she decided to ask,
"How...long was I out?"
"Almost half a day." Gelatin said. "We were getting worried for you. You even slept through the whole finale."
Oh right... Flower forgot, while she was fighting for a final spot in BFDI...she was already a finalist in BFB.
"Yeah...sorry about that."
"Oh, don't worry. You didn't miss much." Gelatin said, before deciding to hold up both the BFDI and BFB. "Hate to break it to you, but... you got second place."
"Oh..." Flower said. Truth be told, that , she was fine with. The BFB and BFDI were kind of nothing prizes to her. If they could actually be used to time travel, maybe...
"Well, congrats, Gelatin!" Flower said, not seeming too bothered, "What can they do?"
"Not much." Gelatin said flatly. "I might hang them up in my steakhouse, I guess." He hesitated a bit. "So, uh... what did you dream about?"
Flower sighed as she sat in the grass, swinging her legs a bit. "I... I had this dream about... getting a second chance. I kicked the BFDI, and it kinda... sent me back to season one, where I just... took over my younger self's body. I thought I could try to redeem myself and make some new friends, but..." She visibly exhaled, glancing down at the ground to stop Gelatin from seeing the tears in her eyes. "I guess that was just wishful thinking... 'cause now? Now... I'm awake."
Gelatin nodded slowly as he sat next to Flower, gently placing a hand on her shoulder and smiling up at her. "Well, look on the bright side. Even if that was just a dream, you're still doing great right now. Everyone thinks you're getting better from... well, whatever you were back then, so why do you want to change the past when you're satisfied with the present?"
"Because..." Flower hummed...she needed someone to get this off her chest too...maybe Gelatin was the best person, "Because I think I should've been nicer from the start... but I guess that's... just how my mom, Dahlia raised me. From the very beginning, she pretty much spoiled me rotten up until the start of BFDI... y'know, she's the 'beauty pageant' kinda mom. I thought everything would just be handed to me on a silver platter, and when I didn't get my way... I threw tantrums. A lot ."
