Stellar stood in front of the place her mother had informed her that the meeting would be taking place. She went inside and looked around before dropping into a red cushioned seat. Likely Five wouldn't be here yet. The meeting wasn't due to start for ten minutes, and if she knew the mind of a trained assassin, they would arrive slightly later so they could make sure everyone was there, then get the job done quickly and go.
Stellar let her thoughts consume her, mostly about her mother and Five. She understood why her mother would want to go through with this, and after tossing and turning all night last night, she had a feeling she knew what her mother was up to.
You see, as much as Stellar hated to admit it, her and the Handler had a pretty similar mindset when it came to things like these. Stellar didn't quite enjoy 'playing with her victims', as good as she could be at it.
But one thing Stellar was good at was guessing her mother's plans, and if needed, finding ways to unravel them. She never meddled though. The Handler was devious and sometimes sinister with her planning, but as heartless as she seemed, she had taken Lila and Stellar in, given them everything they needed and raised them well. (sure stellar, sure)
Stellar predicted that her mother's plan could go along the lines of this:
Get Five to assassinate the board - this would set her up to be able to become the leader of the Commission, and seeing as Five was one of the most deadly assassins ever and stuck in quite a bad situation, she could quite easily offer him something that he couldn't turn down in exchange for this.
The next steps were where things took a turn for the worse. At least, for Five.
Knowing her mother, she would keep her side of the deal. However, there were various ways that this step could go wrong, or in the case of the Handler, horribly right.
Stellar had guessed that her mother would probably toy with the briefcase given to Five.
She had peeked into a few of the millions of futures yesterday as her mind restlessly raced with ideas.
The most likely, but not only ways that her mother could mess with Five's way out of here was to create a fake briefcase that would take them elsewhere, putting a time limit on the briefcase so that he wouldn't be able to gather his siblings in time or making the briefcase deactivate if anything even remotely damaged it.
After this, even if Five succeeded, was the smartest and meanest part of the plan.
As Five assassinated the board, this would cause chaos and disorder at the Commission. But her mother, being the only one in power now could quite easily pin their deaths on him. This would work wonderfully because he already hated the Commission, and everyone there knew that he was perfectly capable of this.
Stellar sighed. She didn't know whether all this would even happen, and honestly, she didn't really want to find out. She didn't want to know that her predictions could be right. She didn't want to admit to herself that she really was like her mother. Stellar buried her face in her hands and tried to control her breathing.
Focus. She told herself. None of this had happened yet. None of this might even happen. Be here. Now.
She lifted her head from her hands and almost missed the black haired boy walking away from the front reception desk. Her eyes snapped to the movement and his distinct blazer as he strode off. Stellar waited a moment, then followed, making sure no one was looking at her before using her illusion power to blend in with her surroundings. She crept after Five and found him shaking a vending machine rather violently.
"Fucking fudge nutter!" He cursed. Stellar stifled a laugh as he kicked the vending machine, leaving a huge crack and dent in the glass. Five looked around before walking off again. Stellar tip toed over to the vending machine, avoiding small shards of glass on the floor and grabbed the fudge nutter, placing it in her pocket.
