Chapter 12 'The other one'

"Uh...guys?" Klaus comments uncertainly, peeking out of the barn door. 

Two figures are standing far away.

All of the siblings except Vanya - who is dealing with Harlan - make their way over to the barn door, joining Klaus and looking out.

"Wait, who are they?" Klaus says cluelessly.

"That's the Handler and Diego's girlfriend." Five answers. 

He silently wonders where Stellar is. She disappeared while him and Diego were arguing, and after a crash in the kitchen, she was nowhere to be found. Five wonders if the Handler and Lila kidnapped her or something. Not that he cares. She was with Commission anyway. 

(looks like u have a serious case of something called denial)

"Lila." Diego clarifies. "My ex-girlfriend."

"What?"

"You know what? Doesn't matter. They both look angry." 

"Yeah, our brother tends to have that effect on people." Allison comments sassily.

"I'm gonna go find out what they want. You guys stay with Vanya and the kid." Five instructs.

"I'm coming with you too." Diego states. Five narrows his eyes, but Diego ignore him. "Come on."

Both of them head for the figures in the distance as Klaus comments:

"Wait, which one's the girlfriend?"

Stellar uses the one remaining briefcase to teleport to where her mother and Lila will be. The blue light engulfs her and soon she finds herself standing in the middle of the two.

"I love the smell of fresh country air. Don't you, darlings?" The Handler says breezily.

"It makes me want to vomit." Lila deadpans.

"It's all air." Stellar shrugs. "You know, the Hargreeves siblings won't have much of that soon."

The Handler barks out a laugh and Lila nods in confirmation.

"What the hell do you want?" Five asks, coming up to them. His eyes widen a fraction in shock and confusion as he spots Stellar, but he immediately returns to his usual arrogant, annoyed expression. 

God, Stellar wanted to punch him so hard.

"To see you suffer." Lila answers shortly. Stellar doesn't answer.

"What about me?" Diego asks.

Lila looks at him with a disgusted look.

"You're not even worth my wrath!" She spits.

Stellar looks at him with a blank expression and shrugs.

"Just don't get in my way and you won't." She says matter of factly. 

Five furrows his eyebrows at her, taken aback at the tone of her voice, which is laced with venom and hate.

"Easy." The Handler warns her daughters. "We're here on official business."

"And what, pray tell, business is that?" Five snaps.

"As head of Commission," The Handler explains. "I've decided to eliminate the criminal responsible for the assassination of the former board of directors."

Diego laughs.

"Yeah, right. We didn't kill the shitty board members." He says winningly.

Stellar and Lila exchanged a slightly amused glance.
