Arjun watched his brother in law's brows scrunching in confusion as his eyes shifted from Venuka to Arjun.
"I'll explain everything once I come back" Arjun assured before walking toward Venuka.
"Arjun, wait" Dhrishtdyumna tried to stand up but immediately fell back with a groan and realised there's a deep wound on his left knee.
Arjun halted before swivelling around to face Dhrisht "It's your responsibility to take the children safely back to Panchal, Dhrisht"
"Prince, we need to hurry before the girl gets hurt" Venuka almost pleaded with Arjun who nodded and mounted on Vayu while the former mounted her own horse and soon the two were out of Dhrishtadyumna's sight.
"Prince I've arranged a chariot for you" A man who was definitely a Naga approached him. Confused and frustrated Dhrisht knew taking the children back was more important than pondering over Arjun's bizarre behaviour or the fact why a Naga was helping him.
Carefully Dhrishtdyumna stood up and limped toward the chariot while that man helped the kids hop on it. Dhrisht stared back for a moment before facing straight and letting out a sigh of despair, he ordered "Let's go" . . . .
"I didn't really need your help, you know?" Arjun side glance at Venuka as the walked through the dark forest and in return she just smiled making him narrow his brows "Pardon?"
Her raven eyes looked up at him "Of course you didn't, you're Arjun. Everyone is well aware of your prowess"
"Then why risk your relation with your brother?" Arjun still couldn't quite believe why would Vasuki's sister help him fight against Vasuki's one of most trusted Naga
"My brother would forgive me" Venuka paused as if recalling something before adding "Buif that bastard hurt Suhasini, I will never be able to forgive myself"
"Why didn't you just tell your brother about it if you're so worried" Arjun cut through another bush
"He isn't here and by the time he comes back it would be too late" Venuka halted "Here, I've seen Nakshesha bring her here"
Nakshesha was one of the most powerful Nagas, his illusions were something only Vasuki could break not even Venuka was capable of destroying them completely. Yesterday when she saw him bringing a child forcefully to their royal adobe in this Jungle, Venuka had ordered him to let her go but that wretched was so blinded by lust that he told her the only one who had the right to give him ordered was only her brother. She tried so hard but couldn't take the child out of his captivity.
"In this cave?" Arjun looked around, the forest was so dark that it didn't feel like afternoon
"Well, this cave leads to his adobe" Venuka clarified and watched the third Pandava lightening a stick as he entered.
