Jake: Mmm- Shut up... s-stop...
Tom: Fine~ don't nag me when you want attention, though~

Tom smirked and rolled his eyes, he pulled his arms away from Jake's waist and put Jake down to sit next to him. Jake was desperately fighting to keep his 'annoyed' facade up as he spoke in a quiet tone

Jake: W-who said I wanted your attention?...
Tom: you don't want it~? That's fine, I'll be back then, I'm going on a walk

Tom smirked as he stood up and started walking away. Jake felt A small pang of panic shot through him, but he quickly tried to play it cool and pretend that he didn't care.

Jake: O-oh- okay... have fun I guess......

Jake crossed his arms and looked away, trying to give off a 'I don't care' vibe, even though he absolutely wanted Tom's attention.

Tom: Thanks~ I'll see you later~!

Tom smirk grew wider, he knew exactly what he was doing. He kept walking further away from Jake. Jake huffed and tried to pretend that he didn't care that Tom was walking further away from him. He tried to pretend that the idea of Tom walking out of eyesight didn't make him nervous. The thought of being left alone for too long after being abandoned in the past made his heart thump in his chest. He forced himself to respond in a non-concerned tone

Jake: Y- yeah. See you...

Tom nodded, he started walking farther and farther away from Jake. He put his hands in his pockets and started whistling. Tom was acting very nonchalant. Jake felt a pang of panic hit him when Tom started walking even farther away from him. He was now out of eye sight, and Jake was starting to have trouble keeping the facade up that he didn't care that Tom wasn't nearby. He was trying to be patient, Tom was probably just going on a short walk like he said, and yet the thought of being left alone for too long was making him more nervous. He gripped the end of his own shirt and looked in the direction Tom had walked for a while before turning away and trying to just sit and wait for him to get back.

{An hour later}

The sun was starting to set and Tom hadn't gone back to the cabin yet.
