Reconnection- Jake x Tom

Maybe..?

Tom was walking around, he walked a bit further into the forest and he quickly felt himself tearing up. Jake, who was still inside the cabin, felt the overwhelming guilt in his stomach get worse. Despite his initial stubbornness, he pushed open the door and looked around outside for signs of Tom. Tom was sitting under a tree with his eyes closed, he was slightly crying. Jake spotted Tom sitting against the tree, and quickly walked over to him. Seeing Tom crying made Jake feel even worse, he felt so guilty. He slowly approached Tom and knelt down beside him. Tom noticed Jake and he immediately wiped his tears away before looking at Jake.

Tom: H-hey Jake!

Jake felt a lump in his throat form as he looked at Tom. Seeing him trying to hide the fact that he was crying made Jake even more guilty than before.

Jake: Hey Tom…

He looked at him nervously before continuing in a softer tone.

Jake: Can I sit?
Tom: huh-? Oh yeah sure...

Tom nodded as he leaned his head back on the tree. Jake slowly took a seat beside him against the tree, leaning his head back against it too. He couldn’t help but steal glances at Tom, noticing how red his eyes were from crying. Feeling even more guilty, he spoke up

Jake: Tom..?
Tom: yeah, Babe- er- Jake

Jake felt a pang of guilt upon hearing Tom call him “Babe”, hearing him correcting himself almost felt worse.

Jake: Listen.. I need to tell you something..
Tom: Yes, Jake-?

Tom slightly smiled. Jake swallowed again, he took a deep breath and spoke up.

Jake: Listen.. what I did back there… threatening to break up with you.. and saying I could live without you… I didn’t mean it..

Tom Chuckled, he shook his head and looked down. He flicked a piece of dirt.

Tom: You don't have to lie... I'm fine with it, Jake!

Jake felt his heart shatter into a million pieces when he heard Tom chuckle and dismiss his apology.

Jake: I’m serious, Tom… I don’t want to break up with you… not even as a joke… I really-

He paused. He was struggling to get the words out, but he continued.

Jake: I really, really need you..

Tom shook his head, he reached up and gently put his hand on Jake's cheek.

Tom: No you don't... You're the most amazing boy I know! Anyone would be lucky to have you and you don't need me!

Jake felt a wave of emotions wash over him when Tom touched his cheek. Feeling how gentle his touch was made him feel worse about what he had done.

"Anyone would be lucky to have you”

The words sent a pang of guilt through his stomach. No, he was the lucky one here. Tom was the greatest boyfriend he could’ve asked for.

Jake: I do need you, Tom… I don’t want anyone else...
Tom: It's Fine, Jake... You can move on... I'll always remember how fun it was to be with you...

Tom slightly smiled, he kept his hand on Jake's cheek. Jake shook his head as he looked at Tom. He reached up and gently took Tom’s hand off his cheek, holding it in his own lap gently.

Jake: I don’t want to move on, I don’t want to be with some random person… I want to be with you, Tom. I need YOU

Tom's eyes widened as he heard Jake's words, he looked down.

Tom: Jake... Are you sure..?

Jake nodded, looking at Tom and feeling more desperate.

Jake: Yes, I’m sure. I’m more sure of this than anything else. I don’t care about anyone else, Tom… I need you. I need you to stay with me. I don’t want to imagine my life without you… please…
Tom: okay, okay...

Tom softly chuckled as he wrapped his arms around Jake's waist.
