It would be at least two to three weeks before Claire and I would become friends again. All because I came to her. I don't know why I did it, but at that moment it felt the right thing to do. To patch things up. So, I did just that.

We were friends yet again, but the strain that it put in us was always visible. Like when you try to fix an already broken cup, the cracks are always seen, like that.

Meave had befriended us again as well, but it took her longer than me to forgive us which was understandable. By then she had already made up her mind to leave BC but didn't bother to tell us. And although Meave and the rest of us were friends again, part of us was weary of her, knowing she had spent a good amount of time with Nat and her friends who, although didn't tell us, didn't really like us.

Lord knows what information that seeped out of her.

--------

Claire and I leisurely stroll on the assembly field, inhaling the fresh morning air and letting the sun's vitamin D fill in our pores because our parents said it was good for our skin.

Now you see, walking on the assembly field in this time of the day came with risks, because all around us are boys from various classes playing football with tennis balls, including our own classmates. They create little gangs of their own here and there, Year three in one corner, year five in one, year six there, and year seven here. And I'm not even mentioning the different sections.

With my hands folded behind my back I glance at the numerous juniors playing like their life depends on it while Claire beside me goes on about this quarrel she had on Facebook, until I notice our classmates playing closest to the pond.

"... And to think she is junior than us! God, the nerve!" Claire is saying about this girl that outsmarted her with her good vocabulary, while I only chuckle, my eyes meeting with a certain pair of silver ones. "But trust me when I say, I acted like the bigger person this time and left off without getting too much involved. I did good, didn't I, Ari?"

You see ever since that incident last year, or more like the secret fight with Sindy, something in Claire had changed. Her crazy obsession over social media and online guys had lessoned, and every time I brought it up, she'd cringe and say she doesn't know why she was the way she was. In short, Claire had been reflecting a lot lately about her past actions and how it had affected her student life and hindered with her studies.

She said this year would be different, that she'd start afresh without unwanted influences like Sindy gave and would focus on her studies, but I must say, Lord only knows how long that will continue. For although Claire may have stopped obsessing over social media, she is still quite an avid user, which means she still has her stories to share with me. She still finds new hot guys or has quarrels like the ones she's telling me now, but unlike before, I don't mind hearing them. I actually enjoy them because now they focus on things more than just dirty talk.
