The harsh snow that occupied the whole of December and most of January is slowly taking it's leave, now that it's February. But the biting cold still remains, with wisps of fog emitting with every breath one takes.
The school field trip was over, and like every year, Claire and I didn't join in on the fun because of our strict dad's. Alice and I stayed home and heard stories of the trip the next week from our friends and classmates, and the final conclusion we came? It was that we wouldn't have enjoyed even if we went there.
Why? Because the destination sucked.
Had it been an amusement park, things would have been different. But oh well, guess we didn't miss anything important after all.
February is here, and so is Sports week. A whole week of nothing but games and fun. Now this is something I'm really looking forward to after last year. Sports week in the USA turns out to be better than the one I had back in London, and I found myself enjoying a lot last year.
This year isn't any different. With classes cancelled after third period, every student goes to the massive assembly field or the front field and plays whatever sports they want, bring whatever equipment they want, but also participate in the games hosted by the school itself. I always participate, even this time, but never win. Unlike girls from my old school, these girls are just something else.
Today is the first day, and first days are always warmups, so no real games to play today. Which means we have the whole day to ourselves. And guess what my dear friend Claire is doing?
Yes, you guessed right. She's sharing yet another one of her hottie finds stories.
"Claire you-"
"No no no, listen! Listen, Ari, this time it's legit!" Claire says impatiently, but I give a dismissive wave, trying to get her to stop but boy, she's very persistent. "I swear you'll find him handsome too. For sure!"
"You always say that! And then they turn out to be something else!" It's true. The way Claire describes all the guys she finds you'd think they are some Greek gods or such. But no, they were just average, and while I'm not hating on them for looking the way they do, it's my friends over exaggeration that makes me lose my trust in her words.
However, this time Claire isn't having any of it as she giggles nonstop, dragging me along with her towards the twelfth grade NC science classroom, that is shaped like a vintage house. The building that houses the twelfth-grade science NC classroom is a singular building, more like a house with a front room converted to the classroom, and door leading to other two classrooms at the back. It's situated in the center of the school, dividing the assembly field and the front field with the main building to its left, the A levels building to its right which too looks like a vintage mansion, just more medieval and ancient. And beside it, the administration building.
This might be a little late for school introductions, but I'll just leave this here. Our school isn't like any other school in the area but is one that dates back to centuries ago. And these buildings that I mentioned? They are centuries old too, with their foundations dating back to the World War II times. The only new buildings are the main building and administration building.
