"Stefen loves you."
"No he doesn't."
"Yes he does."
Silence.
"Nat is right. Stefen loves you."
"Shut up Railey."
"It's true."
"No it's not."
"How do you know that?"
"Because the alarm didn't ring in my heart."

"And that over there is Isaac, his mom is also a teacher in our school, Miss Hanna. And that is Josh, his twin sister is Maisy, over there." Debora slowly explained to me, because even after a day had passed I was still getting used to all the new faces.
As she introduced one after another, this time more openly than with whispers from a register, I nodded, grilling them all to my brain.
Once again Debora and I were sitting together, and by the looks of it, she didn't really mind, and I was most comfortable with her if I may say so myself. I could finally talk as myself with her and not pretend like I was the child of some noble.
As the introductions continued, I noticed the two girls who had sat together even yesterday, and today as well, not really talking to anyone.
"And them? Who are they?" I asked, making Debora turn towards them. "Oh them? They aren't from my previous class."
"I guessed. They are new?"
"Yeah, from Scholars Home School. They are cousin sisters."
I stared at the duo shamelessly, trying to find any resemblance but coming out empty. Even for cousins, they had nothing in common.
"To the left is Nell, the genius one and more decent and reserved. The other is Sindy, not a genius but a real fire cracker. A few days ago, she almost caused havoc because someone wanted to stop her from sitting beside her sister." Debora explained, while my eyes only went wide with every word. "You mean, they have been sitting with no one but themselves since the start of semester?"
"Exactly."
"Wow."
As we sat there in our seats, glancing from face to face, my eyes suddenly rested on a duo who I knew were having their seats right behind us just like yesterday. They didn't talk much to others either, and all I heard from them yesterday was them singing, and believe me when I say, what beautiful voices they had! So melodious! They might as well have a singing career.
"Everyone is so paired up here." I mused, and Debora nodded. "Totally."
While Debora had been hanging out with me ever since my arrival, she had said she already had a best friend, the roll no. 1, Samantha. But although they were best friends, Samantha never really sat with her, for she was the 'roll no.1' and HAD TO sit at the front, while Debora was just a moderate student like me.
There were so many groups, the weird sisters, the singer's, Pearl and Claire, and then Nat and Railey. Everyone here had already chosen a companion to spend the year with.
While the students roamed around the huge classroom and chatted about this and that, I suddenly noticed a figure standing out of the classroom, desperately waving at me.
Rea.
I smiled, getting to my feet and excusing myself before I left the class to see my old friend. "What's up?"
