Other relatives: Emma Penrice Melanie Troughton ------------------------------------------------------------ Overview Betty Annabelle Richards was born in Altrincham in 1999 to Justin Rutherford and Claire Stanley and brought some stability to Justin's life even though he didn't deserve it through what he did to Kathy.
However, despite this, she lived a happy childhood with her uncle, and she grew up in a runaround and bustling neighbourhood.
She met Toby Carmichael, and they quickly knew that they loved each other. In 2013, they went on a day trip to Kidderminster, and Justin accepted Toby.
2019: Hard times. Times became tough in Altrincham in Early 2019 as bad investments and her uncle Harry's gambling debts mounted and resulted in a repossession of her home.
She decided to try and source a place to live up north and remembered Justin telling her about Kathy, so she decided to pick the door to Number 5 Masefield Avenue.
When Kathy and Oliver returned from their pub lunch, they knew they'd had their door tampered with she gave herself up to them. Originally, Oliver didn't have a problem with her staying, but Kathy started to prioritise her instead of him and the kids he and Kathy had a dispute that made him go for a while. And when he did return, he was tolerant of her to be kind it was only because of Jeff Matthews that Kathy and Oliver's marriage didn't implode. ------------------------------------------------------------ The 2020s
2020: Turning Point February 2020 was a turning point for her as she was the first person who identified that Oliver had a stroke when people thought he was dead. She kept Gabrielle, Vanessa, and Kathy's sanity above board.
Oliver returned for good in May and immediately adopted Betty, and he brought her along when they holiday to Italy. Oliver did apologise on how rotten he'd treated her, but the pandemic stopped anymore of the plans from happening.
However, her sweetheart Toby Carmichael returned after 28 years to Carlisle and credited Oliver's health problems and Betty for his decision to return.
2021: Getting what you want Betty and Toby announced their relationship to the family, which was received well. They didn't want it to be seen as a backward relationship. They went on a 3 day holiday to Blackpool, and when they came back, Gabrielle was in hospital, having had her appendix removed.
Soon after this, she got engaged to Toby at a restaurant, and she was happy to become his wife, Oliver financed the wedding under the condition that Kathy and the girls had a role to play they became her bridesmaids while Oliver walked her down the aisle.
2022: Major milestone Betty became a mother to her son Eddie George Carmichael. Instantly, the Troughtons and Scunthorpes rallied around Betty and Toby and supported them. Justin was unable to attend the christening as he was serving a 14-year sentence for his crime.
2023: getting back out there. she attended his half-sister Gabrielle's wedding as a bridesmaid the behest of Gabby. She had been suffering from body dismorphia as a result of the pregnancy.
2024: Supporting the family she along Toby declined to join the Troughtons on a trip to Scotland for Archie Matthews's 3rd Marriage, and when the time came to it, she supported Sarah's pregnancy announcement before Andrew committed his crime to round out the year.
2025: Snake eyes = 2 It seems to be that time again as Betty falls pregnant again she's got job security at Sainsbury's, but the thing that concerns her is that with her pregnancy and strained finances and Toby working hard to keep there heads above water will they have to get Oliver to help them out????
