Personality
Tobias "Toby" Phillip Carmichael, the eldest child of the Troughton family, has spent much of his life away from his relatives, yet he maintains a deep interest in the family's history. A passionate runner, Toby is also a dedicated lawyer, continuing his career with the same focus and determination that defines his character. Despite the time apart from his family, Toby's commitment to both his profession and personal interests reflects his resilience and independence.

Overview
Toby was born in Carlisle Infirmary in 1992 to Lucy Carmichael and Oliver Troughton, Lucy had the surname "Troughton" since she married Oliver in 1987, and thus he decided to put Toby in her maiden name.

Just a day shy of being able to be taken home during the night, kidnappers had infiltrated the maternity ward, and he was taken during the night. When they woke up, they realised Toby had been stolen when the police came up inconclusive. It effectively tore up their marriage.

For years, Oliver lay awake at night wondering if the son who was taken so young was still alive, Toby was taken to Altrincham, where he was adopted and lived on the same street as Justin Rutherford.

Toby knew when he was very young that he was in the wrong family with the wrong community and yearned to be with his dad but didn't know where he'd be.

Something fruitful that did pay in Toby's favour was that he met Betty Richards, and they were a loved up couple and that he had taken up a fully funded university to become a lawyer.

Toby was a fully qualified lawyer in 2010. He wanted to make something of himself and prove himself. Betty left Altrincham in 2019, and Toby was going to follow suit, but a serious case came up that upended his return up north.

2020: Through Betty, he heard about his dad's stroke and made provisions to move up north as Betty had, and that December, he met his family and got his relationship back with Betty.

2021: He, Izzie, and Betty started participating in a competitive park run, of which he was a great sprinter. He also made things official with Betty and got engaged to her in August and married in December, letting his dad walk Betty down the aisle.

2022: Toby became a father he got comfort and support from Oliver and Kathy along with Lucy and her husband Clarence, and he rallied behind Julia, suggesting that she go to a nightclub to see if she meets someone.

2023: he attended his half-sister Gabrielle's wedding as a bestman on the behest of Gabby. He also worked alongside his father to push the property paperwork faster, which he did. He also did the same when Sarah married Corey, her boyfriend of 6 years.

2024: Toby declined to join the Troughtons on a trip to Scotland for Archie Matthews's 3rd Marriage, and when the time came to it, he supported Sarah's pregnancy announcement before Andrew committed his crime.

2025: With a 3 year old starting daycare and his battle with his uncle Andrew, Toby will have to keep many plates spinning like cog wheels, but will the machine be pushed into overdrive as money is tight and Betty is pregnant again, will he be able to handle it?

Knowing me knowing you (Key Notes)

Likes:
● he likes playing football games like Fifa and Football Manager and lets his father win sometimes.

● he likes daily running, especially in the cold winter days, and constantly thinks about doing the great north run, and he likes geography, especially with flags.

● he likes Blackpool FC, but as most of the Troughtons do support AFC Wimbledon and their battle up the leagues.

Dislikes:

● he hates his uncle Andrew, he has since his return as he's became more bitter and self riotous thinking everything should be handed to him.

● he hates Boxing and Rugby League as he doesn't get the rules and the points distribution.

● he doesn't like leaves on the road and believes that people on community service should pick them up as well as clean up bottles in shrubbery.
