Maxine Troughton is a strong and devoted woman, balancing her roles as a wife to Barney and mother to their three children-David, Daisy, and Kelsey. As the daughter of F1 World Champion Alan Tanner and Sylvia Tanner, Maxine grew up in the spotlight but has always valued family above all else. She is supportive, fiercely protective of her loved ones, and carries a quiet strength, guiding her family with grace and resilience.

Overview
Maxine Marion Tanner was born in 1975 to Alan Tanner and Sylvia Thomas. She was the second out of four children they had she was the first daughter of Alan and Sylvia, while her big brother Wesley would be their only son.As a custom of being Alan's child, she was uprooted when the F1 season started she attended school but was basically on the road for most of the year.
As was custom for the Tanner's, like the Troughtons, they had a homeland they'd regularly frequent for them it was Blackpool. In 1981, her grandad Dennis took her and Wesley there it would be a memory Maxine would hold on to, and she lived a carefree 1980s growing in her role as big sister.

1990s
It was 1991 when Maxine started to date this drove Alan into Paranoia as the people she hung around with weren't the best company she dumped the boyfriend she was with.1992: she met Barney Troughton in late 1992, a doctor, and the son of Pub Landlord Luther Troughton she wanted him to see her for who she is and not her status.
1993: she and Barney made their relationship official and lost their virginity to each other. However, this was overshadowed when on New Years Eve, she slept with Oliver Barney's brother.
1994: When the affair became public knowledge, Maxine wasn't as harshly scrutinised for her involvement as she should have been. She reunited with Barney while Oliver was left with nothing.
1998: Maxine was put forward to testify against Oliver in his case, but she fell ill and was hospitalized. Therefore, it was unwise to stand trial.
1999: Despite their differences, Maxine was a bridesmaid at Oliver and Kathy's wedding and made peace with him.

2000s2002: Barney was enlisted in the Afghanistan War it was only the day after he left that she found out she was pregnant and in August gave birth to David.
2003: When Barney returned in July, she did let Barney know that Oliver has helped her a lot since he was away. This helped the brothers make amends. They married in that month.
2004: After a hen night, Maxine felt off, and she took a pregnancy test surprisingly confirming she was pregnant again.
2005: she gave birth to Daisy Charlotte Tanner. However, unbeknownst to Barney, she suffered from postnatal depression after the birth she confided in her mother Sylvia.
From 2006 till 2010, she got her head straight and became the loving mother to David and Daisy and got mentioned in a newspaper article for being the stylist of the year.

2010s2011: Maxine and Barney decided to go on holiday to Disneyland, Florida. After they returned, Maxine took a test, and it confirmed that she was pregnant she was shocked but embraced it.
2012: Maxine gave birth to Kelsey, and she and Barney agreed not to have anymore as their family was complete.
2013-2015: Maxine had to reintegrate herself into normal day-to-day life with having three kids it was hard.
2016: Ricky Dean hurt Daisy in the first phase of his plan on Masefield Avenue, Maxine wanted to stand up to him, but she learned he had a history of violence against women.
2017: confessed to her dad Alan what'd happened how Daisy got hurt. He and other men in the Avenue had enough of Ricky Dean's rampage and promptly hurt him.
2018: Maxine's Grandad Dennis Tanner passed away from a massive stroke. Even though Maxine was hurting, she had to comfort Daisy, who'd seen his dead body.
2019: her son David married Melanie, The family went to a Comic-con event she dressed up as supergirl, and she made a new friend, Charlie "Charles" Ridgeley, he'd later be employed at Maxine's place of work. Maxine had to deal with her mother's Alzheimer's diagnosis.

2020: she was there when Barney, who'd worked himself to the bone, saw his brother Oliver have a stroke and his long-time friend Jade Sinatra died. This made him have a mental breakdown. Maxine's mother, Sylvia Tanner, died of Alzheimer's on Christmas Day she also saw the beginning of the end of her nephew Leonardo Shaw.2021: Sylvia's funeral roled around, and Barry Thomas Sylvia's dad made his first appearance since 1980 when William ousted his insider trading to Frederick Lloyd, she also saw the end of her nephew Leonardo Shaw as he died of Motor Neurone Disease.
2022: she celebrated with David after his wife became pregnant and congratulated him on becoming a dad.
2023: On the day of the playoff finals between Carlisle United and Stockport County, Daisy announced she was bisexual and was supported by Maxine.
2024: she questioned David after he participated in the TT Isle of Man automotive event and was there when Julia died after Andrew threw her down the stairs she was there with them, giving them both support.
2025: Things are changing for Maxine as Daisy is thinking about proposing to her girlfriend Leah Warrington, Maxine is on to a lead on Andrew but will she come to regret that when he cottons on, will Shit hit the fan???
