Amahle's POV
Hlelo:Hello ma...meet my daddy
I zone out as soon as she said that.So this is the strict father who doesn't want to buy her a phone. How coincidental is this situation: meeting with the daughter who was calling me her mom just last week and today it's her again but with her father who happens to be my chosen one.We really live in a tiny world.
This fine specimen has been looking at me,well more like staring at me.His gaze is kind of uncomfortable yet in a very comfortable way,you get it? I've been looking everywhere besides his eyes because I don't know what to say to him.I've been waiting to meet him and all for like two years now but now that he's here I'm a bit nervous and reserved.
He's not even saying anything, making the situation more awkw...
Hlelo:(interrupting)Ma...ungizwile?
Me:Uhmmm...yes I heard
She smiles while shaking her head
Hlelo:No you didn't.I asked you if you're okay
Me:(embarrassed)uhm yeah I'm okay I guess ,how are you?
Hlelo:I'm good now that you have officially met your future husband.
I blush while looking down.Kanti yintoni ingxaki yalomntwana, she has no filter at all.I sneak a peek at this so called man and he is still looking at me.Maybe he is mute shame because that's the only reason as to why he is not talki...
My thoughts get interrupted by this deep, melodic and baritone voice that resonates like a warm cozy blanket in a cold winter night.
Man:Hawu ngiyakwazi ukhuluma ntombi yentle yooZizi.
The low timbre of his voice sends shivers down my spine as I quickly squeeze my legs together. When he speaks ,there's a magnetic depth that commands attention, making his words feel tantalizing and intimate. His voice is the type to make you want to say "Yebo Baba"effortlessly and make your heart race uncontrollably. He even called me by my clan name, ndi impressed..
After I finally get a grip I turn to look at him.
Me:Oh..uh..uhm how did...y...yo...you...you...
Him:Khuluma kahle ntokazi.
I feel a sensation rise up my haven yet nothing has been done.I gulp as I squeeze my legs even more.Okay what's happening to me? This has never happened before therefore I rebuke ngegama lika Jesus.
Me:H...how did you hear what I said?
Him:(chuckles)Ngathi kuyashisa lana,mengicela uvule ufestile.
Oh so he's avoiding my question, interesting.
I hear slight snores from the back,I guess uHlelo needed some sleep. I start the car and then open the windows in front.
Him:Ngiyabonga.Khawungitshele ke,uwadlelani amadrugs?
My eyes widen at his question.I've been too busy day dreaming about this man and acting like a horny teenager instead of hiding the packets that are on my lap.His first impression of me is bad like really bad.
Him:Sungibuka kanjalo, phendula umbuzo wami ngoba I don't have all the time in the world.
Okay he is rude.As the saying goes,do unto others how they do to you.So I say
Me:Well I don't think it's any of your business.
He just looks at me with a poker face and then chuckles.
Me:Maybe I missed the joke ,uhleka ntoni bruh?
He clenches his jaw but that action doesn't scare me.He might be handsome and might be my chosen one but that doesn't mean I will let him be mean to me. I can be rude at times and I think it's about to be one of those times now.
Him:Yazi uyajwayela wena nxx.Considering the fact that my daughter and I took our time to save you,you shouldn't be acting like this.
Me:(feigning appreciation)Oh enkosi!Enkosi kakhulu!I don't know what to do in order to thank you...you have become my super hero and my savior.
He just rolls his eyes at me,probably at how dramatic I am.
Him:You know when I met you I thought you were one of those perfect ones who only speak when spoken to and are actually respectful.I didn't expect to meet a disrespectful drug addict like you that was almost raped because of the same thing she's using. So don't be contemptuous towards me please,I'm sure I'm not your age mate judging by how childish you just acted.Dlalela kude kumina.I don't know what my ancestors were thinking, pairing me up with you.
I swallow my saliva, pain being the only thing my heart is carrying. He stooped too low therefore I'll not go lower.I can feel my tears coming meaning rain is coming.
Me:Cela wehle emotweni yam.
Him:With pleasure
He steps out and attempts to take Hlelo too.
Me:Mamela apha nja...You will not be taking Hlelo with you,she is my daughter too now.I will not let her go with you in this weather especially since you don't have a car with you.Futseka apha.
Him:I won't be told what to do by you.She is my daughter,my princess
Me:Do I look like I care?
Him:(chuckles)Uyangidina yazi, let me actually take my leave.
He closes the back door and comes over to my drivers window. He crouches inside my window making sure his minty breath hits my face.He is close, way too close for my liking.
Him:(whispering )I'm Nkosinaye Bangizwe Zulu, look me up on those websites or apps you kids use nowadays. What are they called again...oh uGoogle.I'm sure you don't know me,il mio piccolo pertado.Take care of my princess for me.She has school tomorrow so do bring her.
