Amahle's POV
I finally see us approaching the big city and to say I am tired would be an understatement.Uyayibona iSuzuki swift nezitulo zayo! hayi shame ke shap ka vibe.My buttocks is so painful and I'm hungry, lo brother didn't even stop for anything, not for food not even for the loo, nix.Anyways let me stop complaining because he helped us plus it's not like we are paying him.I play with Hlelo's hair who is laying her head on my lap with her phone in hand.Kanti how does she maintain such a good grip though she's asleep?!
The song "Umlilo by DJ Zintle" starts playing and I bop my head to the beat.
Driver:It's nice right?

He asks as he looks at me through the rear view mirror.Which was weird because he didn't bother conversing with me throughout the whole ride, now that he's off his mood swings ufuna ukuthetha nam.But we move wethu.
Me:It's good.Nothing to write home about.
I say in a rather bored tone.Umlilo is still a banger but I'm not about to indulge in that conversation with him.
Driver:let me guess...you're not into this type of music.
Me:And why is that?
Driver:Your tone was of a bored person so...
Me:I think you could tell by my body language that I was enjoying the song.
Driver:Oh..
He says while turning up the volume.Serves him right nje ebuza umsuzo.I don't have time for people who play idouble standards with me.I was trying to converse with him when we first got into the car but he wasn't budging kodwa now it's the other way around, njani? He continues driving ,music being the only thing playing. Can you believe this...
**flashback**
Me:Johannesburg?
I say as I put my head on the passenger window side.
Man:Yeah,jump in.
I smile and turn to Hlelo who's already looking at me.
Me:Let's get in my baby.
She nods her head and we take our bags.
Me:Ehh bhuti please open the boot for us.
He clicks something and the boot automatically opens.I thought he was going to help load our bags in the boot like how any other male would.Or maybe I'm expecting too much.Hlelo and I put our bags in ,close the boot and then get in.
Me:Unjani bhuti?
Man:Ndiright
Oh so he's not going to ask how I am?
Hlelo falls asleep leaving a deafening silence between the driver and I.I try making a conversation as he drives.
Me:I'm Amahle,what is your name?
He doesn't respond so maybe he didn't hear me.
Me:I'm Amahle,wena ungubani?
Driver:I heard you the first time ntombazane.I'm Lazola.
I simply nod my head.I debate in my head whether I should choose a random topic or just keep quiet.I go for the first option...

Me:I don't get how the ANC always wins the elections.Yes I get it ukuba a lot of stakeholders, that fought against Apartheid, like Nelson Mandela,Winnie Madikizela,Steve Biko were part of this party but now ther...
Lazola:(interrupting)Please...I'm not in the mood.
He says as he turns on the radio.I shut my mouth and start insulting him in my mind...the way he is so rude you would swear that he is on his period.Anyways I take out my phone and play my games because wow...umntu onje !?
**End of flashback **
Lazola:Where should I drop you guys off?
Me:HoneyGoz mall.
Lazola:Alright.
He drives to our destination while I shake Hlelo so she can wake up.
Me:Hlelo vuka ntombi.
She doesn't budge so I continue shaking her.She shoots her eyes open and says...
Hlelo:(shouting)Don't take her!
Lazola gets startled and cusses under his breath.I look at Hlelo who has drool over her cheek and is breathing heavily.
Me:Take who?
Hlelo:Uhm...no one mama.
Me:Mhmmm.Are you okay?
Hlelo:Yeah I'm good.Ngicela amanzi ma
Me:I don't have.
Lazola:Here
He says while looking at us through the rear view mirror. He's holding a 1,5ł bottle of water.Hlelo first looks at me as if asking for permission.I nod my head.
Hlelo:(cautiously)You didn't put anything in it right?
Lazola simply rolls his eyes.
Lazola:It's quite clear that you're not thirsty mos.
He says as he attempts to put the water back.
Hlelo:(Clearing throat)Uhm ngiyaxolisa.Can I please have the...uhm...water.

He chuckles and passes the bottle to her.We finally reach the mall and we get out. This time Lazola offloads our bags for us and we thank him.As I'm about to go off he holds my wrist.
Lazola:I have a feeling we'll meet again soon,ndlovukazi.
I look at him shocked as he takes out his business card.
Lazola:I'm part of your journey to finding your true self. Here, take this.
He then walks away to his car and swerves off as if he didn't just say such.Part of my journey njani?
Me:Hlelo let's go to Mugg and Bean,ndilambe!
Hlelo:Yho nami.
We giggle and walk towards the restaurant with our suitcases in hand.I tell her to order anything she wants while I do the same ngoba we don't know when we'll ever come here again. That's another thing that's stressing me out. I miss my family and friends so much but I can't even go to them.My life is just messed up.Our food gets here and we start digging in.
Hlelo:Mama
Me:Mhmmm?
Hlelo:You'll be fine. We'll be fine.Stop stressing about this ngoba konke kuzolunga.
Me:When Hlelo kamamakhe?
She doesn't respond but continues with eating. I heave a sigh.We continue with our lunch. We then order a takeout meal for Phindile and then bolt home.We get there and luckily none of my brothers are home.I call Phindile so she can open the gate.
She does so and the moment we walk in,I feel like there are evil spirits around.Even my amulet starts glowing, proving what I just said is true.I hear a scream from afar.
Me:Hlelo you heard that?
Hlelo:Heard what ma?
Me:Nevermind.
Just then Phindile runs to us excitedly.
Phindile:Hello bethuna! Ninjani?
Hlelo:We are good aunty wena?
Me:I'm fine.
Phindile:I'm also okay...let me help you guys.
She takes some of our bags and we carry some of ours and then walk in.
Me:Baphi oobhuti?
I ask as I scan around the spotless, empty house.
Phindile:They went to Nigeria yesterday for some business offer for your guys's company.
I take a seat startled
Me:Njani? We promised ourselves not to ever sell the company.
Phindile:(giggling)No silly, they are selling some shares, which I think are yours,to the award winning business man in Nigeria who goes by the name of Mr Twuomusk.I think I said that right
Me:When are they coming back?
Phindile:In two weeks I think.
Me:Mhmmm.Uphi uLuviwe?
Phindile:He's in the Eastern Cape with his grandparents, your parents.
Me:Why?
Phindile:Ngoba a lady in my dreams told me that he needs to be far away from me as I'm about to start a new journey with you and your daughter.
Me:Ohhh
I sigh and walk towards my room with my heart feeling really heavy. How could my own brothers come to such agreement without informing me. I mean they can't inform me as they are spiritually and physically detached from me but still.I'm not going to unpack or anything like that because we'll leaving in no time.
Me:(shouting)Hlelo!
Her:Mah?
Me:(shouting)Don't unpack your things. Also tell aunty Phindi to start packing,we'll be leaving soon!
Hlelo:Yho okay
Me:mhmm?
Hlelo:K mah!
Uthi Yho kubani ugirl? I go on my iPad and look for cheap houses for sale.I don't want to rent because I might not be able to pay every month and that can lead us to being kicked out.I don't want that for us and I don't want us to live in Johannesburg anymore. The chances of me bumping into my friends and brothers are high and I don't want to hurt myself even more. We'll be living in Limpopo though the heat there is the worst.
