The way of the Shifters.
The kingdom of Ertha-Vulkan has one of the oldest forms of magic : SHIFTING.
It's fair to clarify that only those within the royal bloodlines have access to the magic of the land.
The royal line of Ertha-Vulkan is directly linked to that of Athahu-Alpa, and Tenokh.
Their main manifestation is that of the wolf.
For centuries, the wolves ruled over the different tribes of Ertha-Vulkan, because they were more often winners of the challenges.
Now, the throne is inherited to the first born, daughter or son, of the ruling monarch.
The United Forces of Ertha-Vulkan
The first law implemented in the kingdom of Ertha-Vulkan was an elite squad of shifter warriors.
This royals would give up their titles, their chance to inherit any lands, or marry, to serve their kingdom and protect their people.
It's a tradition that is still going on this days.
New kingdom, new rules.
The same why commerce and warfare was changing, social rules and new traditions were being created.
Before the unification, the nomad tribes of E-V. would breed with foreign merchants, visitors or pirates, and to the new king that was seen as mixing the blood, making the breed impure.
Little by little, with the new trading laws, and the separation of the big cities, from the port, the population of E-V. started to only procreate within itself.
Some of the other kingdoms (like Hydros and Pyros), took to follow these " Pure blood " laws
With time, their bloodlines weakened.
The Last Shifters.
In the last generation, as it has happened to most kingdoms, the bloodlines weakened and less, and less royals were being born with the land magic.
By the time of the wars against the Enchanted Lands, only a few royals were magical.
With the new wars, also came the Renaissance.
With the beliefs that the magic was dieing, the people of the Kingdoms of Aval started to breed with each other again.
The war brought chaos, and the Exodus of millions of magical creatures, to the lost continent. A land where everyone is forbidden to go to, by law.
With the end of it, and the signing of the Aval treaty, the kingdoms not only found peace, but a new breed of magical princes and princesses.
Is to recent to even know, for these teenagers had barley developed their powers, and have long years of training ahead of them.
But we will dig more into it ahead in the book.
